yngwie needs a producer.....
every album is the same, monotone sounding drums, lost in the mix vocals, and it just sounds off. i loe the guys tunes, but man, its been how long since he has had an album that actually kicks hard.on my stereo, he sounds ok, the drums are weak, it just seems like he sets the EQ on flat across the spectrum every album. this one is no exception ! every album is so darn FLKAT !miss a couple house payments and get your self a producer, after 30 years, you still can't produce.

Yngwie Delivers Again!
As the description reminds us, this is Yngwie’s 21st album, not to mention the many live recordings, collections, and Pre-solo work with Alcatrazz and Steeler. Yes there are some repetitive themes, but far from a point of laziness, I find them refreshed. You’ll hear some Black Star, and Dreaming in the first few tracks. And of course the perfect weaving of classical themes particularly noticeable in the first track. The album starts off strong. Wolves, relentless fury, the title track, are very strong, neoclassical screaming tracks. The bliss ballad is well-done too, but I’m not sure it will become a live staple as Soldier has.I do wonder if we’ll ever get another album from Yngwie with real drums and a professional singer. He usually changes it up every second or third album and this period of one-man band since Spellbound has been his longest without a change. Time will tell, but in the mean time it’s great getting new music from such an incredible and original player.

Yngwie is always Yngwie
If you like Yngwie's guitar virtuosity, you'll love this record. It's not quite the "intro album" for his style and music, but you can't go wrong with this one if you've never heard Yngwie before.Favorite Track(s): Toccata and Relentless Fury.Yngwie Fans: A Must Buy. Casual neoclassical guitar fans: Another Must Buy. :) Metalheads will love this record, as it's heavier than some of Yngwie's other work...In short. Buy this album. You won't be disappointed. The Deluxe Edition gives you cool swag as well. :)

If you like any of Yngwie's previous albums, you will like this one
I love Yngwie's first six solo albums and then he kind of lost me. He seems to have recaptured some of his earlier fire with this album. He does all the vocals on this album. They have not caught up to his guitar playing, but they are at least as good as some of his previous vocalists' efforts. This album probably does not have anything that is going to make it to a radio station, but who listens to the radio anymore? If you enjoy classical melodies and harmonic minor runs infused with over-the-top rock guitar, this is for you. Yngwie has been around for decades and no one has yet to catch up to his guitar playing. He's one of kind and this is one of his best efforts.

BACK TO HIS ROOTS!
Honestly I lost interest in Malmsteen's music once he started singing in his albums but this record is a redemption to his previous works, specially with "Blue Lightning" which it was ruined by his own voice in my opinion. I can say this new release is 90% instrumental so it reminds me a little bit of "Rising Force", his first hit.Same speed, solos, riffs and energy from the Yngwie Malmsteen virtuoso man so I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy this new neo-classic jewel!

Enlightenment in action!
Another great album from the living “Master!” As usual when you listen to masterworks you have to hear them several times before you can truly start to appreciate their depth. Great job Yngwie and thank you for bringing true music to us again! I like the messaging as well. George Washington would be proud of his fellow viking! 🇺🇸

"More is more!"
Yngwie fans have long known that the common adage "less is more" does not apply to the speedy Swede. If there are any doubts that he has veered away from his "more is more" philosophy to guitar playing then this latest album will lay those doubts to rest.In many ways the highlight of the album for me is Yngwie's singing which I find to be very distinctive and more exciting than the efforts of many rock and metal vocalists on the scene. His vibrato is perhaps the best aspect of his singing and parallels his instantly recognisable guitar vibrato. His guitar playing on this album is as good as his fans have come to expect from his more recent playing, although I genuinely wanted to hear a lot more of the "less is more" approach and fewer of his instantly recognisable stock phrases which can be very tiring to listen to over and over again. Let things breathe Yngwie! Still, there is much fine guitar playing to enjoy and I feel that Yngwie has produced an impressive and entertaining album which I have already played numerous times in the past day. I would like to wish him great success with it.

Drop the mic
I often think back to how I felt as a teenager anticipating the release of a new YJM album and the buzz it brought. Sometimes the associated curiosity of what the new singer would contribute, would Yngwie live up to promises of delivering that super heavy record that would surpass previous offerings or dip his toe further into the commercial sound. I recall walking into a record shop in 1990 and hearing the Eclipse album pre release and being blown away by the solo in Making Love followed by the funky Hendrix influenced Bedroom Eyes and cutting him slack for the lightweight production. Things seemed to gradually decline from this point with the suspicion that his chaotic personal life probably impacted in part on the music. Nevertheless I persevered and still enjoyed albums such as Alchemy, Facing the Animal and even Unleash the Fury(UTF).Unfortunately it is the latter were Yngwie got the idea that he might be able to utilise his vocal talents (ahem) and while the lacklustre Tim Ripper Owens albums came after this, it wasn’t long before the maestro decided to grab the microphone full time. Since then he’s used musicians best described as average to churn out what have become incredibly boring, badly produced and terribly written songs. Live shows have been tedious with the keyboard player murdering classics with the main man singing the newer material. With all this in mind and trying to forget the god awful blues LP, I approached the new release with caution but determined to give it a fair crack of the whip.First hearing Wolves at the door I was a little surprised at the fact it was actually ok. Nothing special and still way off the quality of his golden era but quite listenable. Up next on streaming services prior to album release was Relentless Fury. Now this actually grabbed me and I was even tolerating the vocals although in all honesty if it had Mark Boals or even Mats Levin singing it there would be a massive improvement but hey ho. After this I got the album delivered through the post and put it straight on. Kind of relieved to see there were only 4 vocal tracks I listened straight through. One track I did enjoy was God particle. A bit repetitive bit different than others on the album and not just endless widdly widdly guitar gymnastics. Alas beyond this I was left a bit disappointed but on one hand acknowledging it actually wasn’t as bad as recent offerings. My conclusion? It has some moments but you’re left craving old Malmsteen and not just the guitar playing. While others have suggested he’s never had a song in him I strongly disagree and point to great tracks on not just those early albums but even up to the aforementioned UTF. Added to this those albums had top musicians, as well as the obvious ones such as Jens and Anders there was of course Cozy Powell and Derek Sherinian. It’s not just the musicianship though. The quality of the songs ... lyrics and melodies ... now seemingly long gone and a distant memory.Nowadays I get a buzz watching YouTube clips of amateur guitarists mimicking Yngwies golden era and playing with the passion and accuracy that has long gone from his solos. Will we ever hear another Trilogy or even Alchemy? I doubt it as Yngwie has found a cheaper way of producing albums and someone, somewhere must been plugging that microphone in for him and telling him his singing is up to standard. Please Yngwie ... call up Mark Boals, Jeff Scot Soto or even Mats Levin and maybe invite Jeff Glixman along to the party too.Unleash the Fury again ... 2.5 stars.

A let down, yet again
I love his playing but the only reason I continue to buy Yngwie's stuff is that I hope to hear him doing good songs with a good singer and having solos that have got an impact. I guess I'll never learn, this CD is awful and pointless.

Extreme neo-classical shredding at it's best!
Yngwie really delivers a hard hitting, no compromising album here. A masterpiece of the genre.
