Our Parakeets A-D-O-R-E these Nesting Boxes~
Believe the best review that can be given, is the fact that my husband and I rescued 2-parakeets and we thought it good to purchase them this nesting box. At 1 1/2 years later, we have 20 parakeets with mom and dad included in the count, who are sitting on a new clutch of eggs! We grew from one small cage to 4, and 2-cages are extremely large ones. We've also purchased a 2nd nesting box from this retailer. The Hen immediately upon taking to nesting, entered to peck-out and remove the wooden bar inside the box, as Parakeets nest in empty boxes. Once her nest was empty of all materials, she was ready to lay eggs and sit upon her clutch. The nesting boxes are well made, solid construction, come as advertised with the screws, washers and wing-nuts, to attach inside / outside the cages. Lid of the nest box lifts nicely for viewing and cleaning, with exterior latch, as shown in ad. Our birds adore these nests inside and out of their cages. They use the porch, its little perch and the top of the nest box, for additional rest, fun and play. With so many birds, it is great to watch them finding so many ways to explore and make use of their home as their family grows. We are up to 3-nesting boxes, having purchased a much larger cage and box today. Highly recommend purchasing. Thank you for the opportunity to review the product and thanks as well to those who take the time to read this review! Note on 7-Pics Shared: 1st and 6th photos are of two babies fully grown, who are pictured in the 3rd picture from left in the open lid nesting box. Inside, are new hatchlings only hours and days old, along with older. In the 4th and 5th picture, are the birds as they are growing to maturity and preparing to leave the nesting box for the first time. The 2nd picture shown, is one of our two parents atop the nesting box taking a rest break. Ours are wonderfully attentive parents and the hatchlings have done fantastic bring reared in their nesting boxes. The 7th picture is the last and final, which shows the Parakeet egg when laid. They are quite small and very paper-thin fragile. A penny was lain next to the egg for size/scale reference. These chicks may not look like much when born, but who does. We are all precious when born and completely wonderful. To hear their little chirps is a wondrous gift from their nesting boxes. My husband and I are delighted to know that new little ones have entered our lives each time those little chirps begin. As the song birds mature, so do their lovely melodies. The last photo does reflect our attempt to place nesting material in the box initially, which mother hen promptly removed, because Parakeets want clean nests. The egg shown was already done and discarded, and lays along and atop the materials which the mother hen had discarded (tossed out) of their nesting box! LOL You can see materials in the box in the 3rd pic, which mama hen kept removing, until we learned the lesson and stopped with the nesting supplies. Again, thank you for this opportunity to review such a fine product, and to all who take the time to read a lengthy review.

Great buy!
I thought it was going to be small but it's a good size bird box and it came with accessories like 2 water bottles and a round bird perch that came with it. Will buy again next time!

Box is good
Love the box. The water and seed containers are not the best quality. It does not bother me because I only needed the box.

The birds love it!
This box is very good quality. I have several of them now and raise parakeets. I have noticed the mommas tend to chew out the back half of the separator board, so I have started knocking that out to save them the trouble. I currently have one momma in her box with three babies and three eggs waiting to be hatched, and two mommas with 5 eggs each, staying right in there with babies coming any day now. I do recommend venting the top hatch just a little bit to keep a bit of air circulating in there.

Birds Liked A lot
Good construction and all supplies and hardware that came with the nest box were appreciated. I was not able to attach the box to my cage with the washer and wing nut supplied so I glued two small command hooks to the box and they worked perfectly. Made it very Easy to attach box and remove.

Chewed apart
Good construction. Bad material. my green cheek conures have destroyed it. They really enjoy the enrichment, which is great, but I cant replace it every 2-4 weeks. Maybe not so great for hookbills. Not sure why they destroy these (2nd of this type) maybe the soft pine??

Good product
Good size, easy to clean and check on baby birds, strong, and it doesn’t get damaged from water, we keep out birds outside and so far it has endured rain very good
