a versatile wireless chime, with good range additional features…
The HD01 wireless doorbell system from Croson includes a number of functions in addition to being a reliable door chime. These functions include a motion sensor controlled light, a motion sensor activated alarm, and as a light source.The system consists of two components, a pushbutton station, and a chime unit which contains most of the specialty functions. The chime features a selection of 36 musical tones, and the volume can be set to one of three levels. The chime attaches to a base plate, but can be removed so it can be used as a flashlight. A switch on the chime is used to select the mode.The signal from the pushbutton has excellent range, supposedly up to 500 feet with a clear path. At shorter distances, it is capable of activating the chime through several walls. If the components are within range, unless the situation is extreme, signal coverage should be adequate.There is a combination light and motion sensor on the chime unit. When set in the “LED“ mode, the five LED’s on the unit will operate whenever the signal is initiated, and the light level is low enough. When in the “Alarm” mode, a distinctive audible alarm will sound for 30 seconds, if motion is detected.The pushbutton is powered by a long life A23 battery, which is included. While the chime requires three AA batteries, which are not provided.Depending on the situation, the alarm function may make sense, but it may be more trouble than it is worth. The LED function is nice, but really isn’t critical. If you really need a flashlight, you are better off using a real flashlight, as the LED’s on the chime do not produce a lot of light.I was provided a sample for evaluation. The performance of this chime is very solid, and the cost is not unreasonable. If some of the features do not work for your situation, you do not have to use them. In my experience with these types of signal systems, there can be some issues with the battery life of the chime. While I have not had this system for very long, so far battery life has not been a problem.

Loud enough
I received a free sample to test. This is easy to use and works well. We keep a call buzzer in the bathroom, and this is loud enough to work perfectly.
