Frankly, I was astonished by this reel. I needed a reel to go with a collapsible rod to stow in my center console. I mostly fly fish, but on occasion want a spinning rig on hand. I didn't want to spend much, so this seemed like a natural fit. I figured it would be total throwaway, but I was wrong. The retrieve is silky smooth, the fit and finish are solid, and the drag is smooth and has plenty of holding power. I switched it to a right hand retrieve and am set. I just got back from the beach where I gave it a good workout and it performed like a reel literally 10 times the price. If this were a $100 reel I would give it four stars as it is slightly heavier than reels using more light weight materials. But I didn't pay $100, I paid $20. Five stars all the way - this is easily an everyday reel that will not disappoint.

I also own the previous model GS3000 and I was pretty pleased with the performance for the price point. This model, the GG3000, PLUSINNO has made some nice and very noticeable improvements on and I can say that it is an absolute bargain for the price. Smooth casting, the bail operation is much improved over the GS version I have, super smooth retrieve and the drag seems to be smooth and consistent. Plus, although a little dink, I caught a bass on my very first cast with it! Whether you're just getting into fishing, or you need a spare reel, you just can't beat the overall performance that the GG3000 delivers at such a modest price point. I definitely recommend.

Reel looks great, casts far and reels smooth. Overall it is a great reel fir the price. The only knock on it that I have found would be the drag setting is a little off. It goes from no drag to a lot of drag with a small turn of the drag knob. Once dialed in, it stays though and at this price still a great option.

The media could not be loaded.  The movement is smooth and is sturdy. It’s a reel that is between light and medium, probably closer to medium. Works well with 6lb line. For the price it’s a great deal!

The write up for the reel specifically stated fresh water and salt water.well, I used it twice in salt water and made sure I rinsed in fresh water when I returned home from fishing.on my third trip out, and keep in mind I haven't even had the reel 2 months yet. On my third trip out the reel had seized up so bad that the handle broke.yes i know its a very inexpensive reel. but don't put in the write up for the product that it can handle saltwater use if it clearly cannot handle the salt water environment. and either I had a defective unit or it clearly cannot stand up to the salt water environment.just sharing my experience

This was purchased as a present for my dad’s birthday. He loves this fishing reel and made it his go to. He definitely recommends this product.

It’s not a bad reel for someone who is beginning to learn how to fish. It does have great drag and amazing casting. Will get the job done and not break the bank

Took it out for the first time and had a great trip. Cast a country mile and drag is smooth. Fished it hard for three days straight and had 0 problems. Paired with elite hunter rod was light weight and comfortable to fish all day with.

High quality reel for a good price. Drag system is great. It came with a small velvet pouch too.
