These shoes are not wide and very painful. After half day of wearing the shoes, I couldn’t wear them because they hurt my feet so bad. They might work great for narrow feet, but if you are wide, pass on them.

I've worn Hush Puppies for the past 50 years and have always been pleased with their comfort level, their longevity despite fairly light materials, and their ability to pass for formalwear without any of the usual shortcomings of high-end shoes.This new low profile line is quite different than the standard Hush Puppies you may have worn in the past. They are ultralight, at only 5 ounces per shoe, with an extremely supple upper combined with a waterproof sole. The upper is similar to what you might find in a moccasin, while the sole is more like a casual rain-proof shoe would have, but the appearance of the upper is formal. Were it not for the gray sole, these shoes could pass for formal attire. The shoes have a fixed elasticized lace, so the shoes stay on like shoes, but you put them on as you would a pair of loafers. The insole gives excellent arch support, but I'm a little puzzled by the overall feel of the shoe. I get the feeling that it wants me to put all my weight on my heels, almost as if the toe bed is just a little higher than it normally is in a shoe, or maybe the arch support is not quite in the right place. Whatever - I got used to that over the course of a day and relaxed into a very comfortable pair of shoes which, even new, left my feet happy at the end of the day. These are near perfection as a carry-on pair of more formal shoes when I'm largely going to be wearing sneakers at my destination. I can go out for dinner without a big Nike swoop on the side of my shoes.There is a little branding present - a puppy logo embossed on the outside of the heel, and HushPuppies wording on the tongue, again embossed rather than printed. Neither is obvious unless someone looks for it. So be prepared for a different kind of Hush Puppy, but as usual, they will provide comfort over many years. Oh...one last thing....the width is between a C and D, and if you plan to wear crew socks rather than business socks, go up by half a size from your typical Nike/Merrell sizing.

These men Hush Puppies are a black leather shoe and they are made incredibly well! I actually wear them myself as a woman and they fit great! I ordered a size 7 and wear and woman’s 8 for reference and they fit perfect!These shoes have memory foam contouring cushioning inside and are formed to hug all the curves on your feet. Your feet stay comfortable and won’t get sore after wearing these for long periods of time. They have a moisture wick layer built inside the shoes which help keep your feet dry. The moisture prevention built in is a BioDeWix dry mesh sock-lining which is what provides climate control as well as it has Nzym natural odor prevention. Other leather shoes can smell after wearing them for awhile but not these! The outside of the shoe is made with black leather and have the Hush Puppies logo stamped on the back side of the shoe. These shoes make outfits look clean and sleek. The shoelaces are non tying so you literally just slip the shoes on. You can tighten the laces by pulling up on the first cross lace and continue pulling tight all the way to the top ends of the laces.The reason for me removing a star is the grey rubber material on the bottom portion of the shoes. The grey really makes the thickness stand out. They are thick due to the support these shoes provide but all black would have made these shoes more versatile and could have been worn in more formal type settings. Also the leather takes time for it to soften up. It is soft but the back heel area is not as soft and caused me to get blisters but after awhile it did loosen and now they are extremely comfortable to wear.

Having recently been surprised by the quality of a pair of Florshiem shoes, which I had previously categorized as cheap-dress-shoes, I decided to give the Hush Puppies a try. My brand recognition for Hush Puppies is along the likes of cheap, disposable K-Mart shoes for kids who will outgrow them in a year. However, the ad here looked good and for $100 I thought they may be making a push into the higher end market with these, so I gave them a try.These are a pretty basic looking oxford shoe with a light colored sole. The first thing I noticed was that the shoe is very light. The leather itself has a stippled appearance, which I do not particularly care for, and is not apparent in the online pics. The leather is soft but also very thin. Feels and fits more like a slipper or moccasin. The laces are stretchy and not meant to be tied, so it functions like a slip on. My size was made a bit small, accounting for some expected break in. The sole materials have a somewhat cheap feel, but they are light which may be contributing to that. They are rather comfortable with a pronounced arch support. Overall the design is minimalist and pleasing, although the light colored, sneaker-like sole on a dress show is an outgoing fashion trend, so that may not age well.Overall a 4-star product. I was not all that impressed with the quality-for-price and overall value proposition and I would not be paying full price for these unless I was really in love with the design. I think that if Hush Puppies is trying to rebrand as a higher quality shoe maker they will need to do better than this to convert and attract buyers.
