We bought this for our infant daughter. This little device has become a regular part of our family's bed time routine. After we lay her down in her crib, we start the melody that lulls her to sleep while the starry light show mesmerizes her. As we quietly leave the room to continue our nightly ritual, we can still hear the music box melody through the baby monitor which I'll admit, calms me down as much as it does my baby girl. After some time, the melody turns off automatically and by that time, we're in bed, quietly waiting for sleep to come.One night, shortly after the music box stopped, we heard creepy heavy breathing through the monitor, as if someone were right next to the crib with murderous intent. My hair stood on end and my wife bolted straight out of bed. With terror in my heart, I quickly got up and scanned the room for any blunt instrument to bludgeon our daughter's assailant with. My wife was already running through our bedroom door to confront the intruder while I'm begging her to wait for me to find a weapon. In my heart, I knew I wouldn't fare well against the invading psycho without a weapon but she wasn't having it. Finally, I gave up on the search for a weapon and jumped in between her and our daughter's door. I steeled myself mentally for the fight that was about to begin and flung open the door- knocking a hole in the wall where a door stop should be. I quickly turned on the light with one hand and a balled fist in the other to scan the room for our would be murderer. With confusion, I saw nothing out of place except a startled, now awake baby. There was no masked villain- only the sound of beach waves crashing against a rocky shore playing through the tiny speakers that normally play such calming music. Neither I nor my wife were calm at that moment but I was certainly feeling foolish. My wife had apparently tried the alarm function on the lamp- not knowing she had set it to PM instead of AM. I changed my underwear and went to bed.Can't blame the device for user error though. 5 stars!

My biggest complaint with this product is no volume control! We bought it for my 5 yr old to have some white noise for going to sleep and also have an alarm to wake up in the morning by herself. She loves the stars and flashing lights but I feel that jingle bells blaring out is not really appropriate for sleepy time. My husband geniusly thought of putting tape over the speakers to block some of the noise and that worked well. There are some slower tunes on there that could work but overall I think we will use the time and alarm function more than anything on this.

For the money u can't go wrong baby is entertained by lights and I put the 1 hr setting during his naps I have put tape in the speakers so the sound is lowered would get 5 stars if it had volume and a plug in for charging. As of now my batteries are still working it doesn't drain them as much as others have said. I paid $13ish for this there is one for $20 ish that has volume and comes with a plug in

My son loves the music and star light up portion of this clock or I would review it lower. I bought it because it shows the face lit up but it does not and you can't see what time it is in the dark which was the whole purpose of me buying this clock.Edit to add it stopped working after a week of use

I didn't realize that this was battery operated. A battery operated alarm clock seems really risky because it could run out at any time. It was also smaller than it looked in pictures. In the end I gave this to a coworker to give to their small kid.

I bought this for my autistic daughter. I works good but is confusing because each button controls several things. I wish it was bigger.

This came with no instructions and we can only get the lights to stay on for 1 minute although they are pretty when they are on. The sounds of the sound machine are not that great since there is no "white noise" option. So this is just a clock really.
