very disappointed
I haven't had it to freeze any type of ice cream mixture to freeze yet. Very dissatisfied with this product.

Knockoff is Working as Expected
What most appealed to me about this ice cream maker is its small capacity; it makes up to about twelve fluid ounces at a time. I am hoping it will enable me to enjoy frozen treats in moderation, rather than finishing off whatever size container I bring home from the store. This is a "freezer bowl" style of soft-serve ice cream maker, which relies on the cooling power of your freezer and refrigerator. After leaving the bowl portion in your freezer for eight or more hours, you add your chilled ice-cream or yogurt mixture, pop on the top, and let the device churn away for six to twelve minutes until you hopefully have a treat with the consistency of soft-serve ice cream.Upon receiving this product, I learned that it is called "Rohe's Choice" Ice Cream Maker; PuTwo is the name of the seller. I was a bit surprised by the bulkiness and heaviness of the freezer bowl, which has hollow fluid-filled walls. The clear section of the lid easily detaches from the blue section (that contains the motor) for easy cleaning. I have attached pictures of all four parts of the ice cream makers, as well as the box.You may notice as I did that "220V" appears in several places on the box. The Amazon description for this product states: "Built to North American Electrical Standards" but American appliances are 120V. I sent an email to the seller asking about this issue and have received no response. However, I did subsequently notice a label on the bottom of the freezer bowl on which "120V" appears. Since the motor is working as I expected, I believe the label is more likely than the box to be correct. Before purchasing this product, I noticed it looked similar to another ice cream maker sold on Amazon: Hamilton Beach Half Pint Soft Serve Ice Cream Maker . However, not until I compared the included Rohe's Choice manual with an online copy of the Hamilton Beach Ice Cream Maker manual did I realize the shameless manner in which "Rohe's Choice" appropriated the intellectual property of Hamilton Beach. Most of the text and all of the illustrations in the Rohe's Choice manual are copied from the Hamilton Beach manual. They did not even bother to snap their own photo of their product, which looks slightly different from the Hamilton Beach product (e.g., the Hamilton Beach lid has a white on/off button instead of a red one). The photograph appearing on the front of the Rohe's Choice manual (and on the box) was copied from the Hamilton Beach website (or possibly from their Amazon item description)! Check out my attached picture of the Rohe's Choice user manual and box next to my laptop's display of the Hamilton Beach website. The Hamilton Beach ice cream maker that this product copies has over three hundred Amazon customer reviews, most of which rated the product either five stars or one star. Though some of the critical reviewers were unhappy with the quality of the ice cream they made (which may be attributable to user error and/or unrealistic expectations), many complained that the freezer bowl cracked and leaked out its insulating fluid. I fear the Rohe's Choice Ice Cream Maker could share this problem. The Rohe's Choice (and Hamilton Beach) manual contains six recipes, one of which I decided to try: Cappuccino Ice Cream. It called for milk, sugar, cocoa powder, and instant coffee powder. I substituted concentrated cold-brewed coffee for the coffee powder and tried to compensate for this additional liquid by adding a similar quantity of full fat yogurt. After following the directions, I wound up with a very sweet treat with the consistency of a partly melted slushie (see my attached picture). After this less than successful first try, I noticed that when Rohe's Choice copied the Hamilton Beach recipes, they substituted the word "milk" for half-and-half (half-and-half has far higher fat content than whole milk). Perhaps they don't have half-and-half in China. My subsequent efforts using full-fat yogurt and full-fat coconut milk have been far more successful. I think if you want a creamy frozen treat, it helps to start with a creamy textured ingredient mixture! I also found it helpful to put my mixture in the freezer until it barely starts to freeze before transferring it to the frozen bowl of the Rahe's Choice Ice Cream Maker. If you want to reduce the fat and sugar content of recipes, some creative substitutions (e.g., reduced fat Greek yogurt for full fat plain yogurt), additions (e.g., fiber powder, alcohol), and trial-and-error may be required to achieve creamy results. [You may find some useful tips among the hundreds of user reviews for Hamilton Beach Half Pint Soft Serve Ice Cream Maker .]Rohe's Choice copied the part of the Hamilton Beach manual that states you can make frozen yogurt by simply putting 180 ml of "yogurt into a freezer bowl and follow instruction in 'How to make ice cream.'" This may not produce a creamy frozen dessert, however, if the yogurt you use does not contain enough fat and sugar. Also keep in mind that your homemade frozen yogurt will not taste like typical store-bought frozen yogurt, because most of the store-bought stuff contains very little yogurt! One part of the Hamilton Beach manual that was not copied is their warranty. The Rohe's Choice manual contains no warranty information, as well as no contact information for their company. So if this product breaks prematurely, you will be out of luck.As far as I can tell, the Rahe's Choice Ice Cream Maker appears to be a high quality knockoff of the above referenced Hamilton Beach product, sharing that device's pros and cons. However, it also has a few extra cons not shared by the Hamilton Beach Ice Cream Maker….PROS • Can only make up to 12 fluid ounces every 8 or more hours • Easy to assemble and use • Easy to clean; most parts are dishwasher safe • Can make relatively healthy frozen treats like fruit sorbetCONS • Can only make up to 12 fluid ounces every 8 or more hours • Ice cream may not be completely smooth • Some of your mixture will likely freeze to the inside of the bowl while churning (full-fat mixtures will be easier to remove from the bowl walls than reduced-fat mixtures) • Bulky bowl requires pre-freezing • Your ingredient mixture require pre-chilling • Metal utensils can scratch the inside of the freezer bowl (plastic is recommended) • May not be built to North American electrical standards • May not be reliable and durable • Does not come with a warranty • Supports the theft of American intellectual propertyI was offered the chance to purchase the Rahe's Choice Ice Cream Maker with a promotional discount for the purpose of my evaluaton. I try my best to write fair and useful reviews. In this case, I am not sure how to rate the product. Despite my lengthy list of "cons," I do like the product (so far). However, I am concerned about whether the freezer bowl will spring a leak. I am also uncomfortable with how boldly its manufacturer appropriated the intellectual property of an American company. I decided to give this product a three star rating, which is slightly lower than the current average rating (3.1) of the knocked-off Hamilton Beach product. If this Rohe's Choice product is still going strong after one or two years (depending on how frequently I use it), I'll update this review and give it another star. On the other hand, if the device breaks within a year or two, I will update my review and lower my product rating. Thank you for reading my lengthy review. I hope I have been helpful!

I got this product with a promotional discount for an exchange for my honest and and unbiased review .I am really excited to have this ice creme maker it looks exacly what it looks in the picture . It looks cute for its color sky blue which is my favorite color. It comes with a users guide or manual and some of ice creme recipe too . It is heavy maybe because of the fluid filled freezer bowl. It is just small and can only make like 2 glass of eyes creme . Well you have to chill the ice creme mixture in the fridge for 1 hour or longer if you want a good result and you also have to put the freezer bowl in the freezer for 8 hours and longer it depends of how depending on your freezer's capacity or setting . I did all the steps and instructions as it says , but i didn't got the result i want . Is is still liquidy or runny , unlike the ones you bough in store it is not like that but is is fluppy so what i did after 15 mins of spinning my icecreme mixture in the machine i just put it in the freezer to harden and after 4 hours it looks like a real ice creme now. I like it because you can make your own ice creme any flavor and any ingredient . You can have a healthy ice creme as well

Read book with directions first
I am still getting the hang of this. My first time was almost a complete flop. Make sure you read the directions first because you have to freeze the bowl section for at least 8 hours I did 24 and you need to refrigerate your mix for at least 8 hours before putting in the bowl. I also found that you need to turn it on for longer than it says I am up to 30 minutes and each batch is improving. It is easy to put together and clean though. As soon as I clean the bowl section I immediately put it back in the freezer for storage so that it will be ready for the cooled mix to be put in it so I don't have to wait as long. The book does have a couple of recipes in it also so don't lose it. It doesn't make a lot of ice cream so there is no waste but you could refreeze if you don't eat it all just put the bowl into a freezer bag. It is a pretty shade of blue too. There are only 4 pieces to this and they snap together easily. If I find that the consistency of this is still not up to par of soft serve ice cream or better than I will update my rankings of it.I received this at a discount for my honest and unbiased review of it.
