Well
Things are really heating up in Mattie's world. She's part demon, part reaper and part something else that no-one knows. She's got a demon after her and her sister has a very bad angel after her. She's trying to protect everyone and doesn't know what to expect next. Great story! I'm really looking forward to the next book. You never know what to expect next and I am enjoying these so much. You won't go wrong reading these books. Author's got a real sense of humor and a wicked way of drawing you into the story. Love it!!

Slow and Steady as We Go.
I was given an ARC for an honest review, and this is 100% SPOILER FREE FOR VOL 4 ONLY. If you haven't read the rest you really should. I loved this story, being broken down into two parts I believe is what made it a bit slower of a read then the rest, but it's no deterrent that's for sure. The end does pick up to the fast paced thrill ride known to be The Ghost Files. Will Mattie (the witty, clumsy, brave, smart mouthed main character of these stories) finally find the answers she has been searching for? Will she find out if she has demon blood running through her veins and will she find a way to harbor all that extra Ghost energy she is carrying around with her or will it just turn out to be another downfall that could destroy her in the end? Will Silas ever give up on her or will he be the salvation he seems to try so hard to be? Will she find out the truth of her mother's side of her family, and if so will it be more than she can handle and will she take off as she always does? Will she finally accept Zeke and the rest of the Cranes into her life as her true Family? Does Mattie find out how to use her ever growing powers without almost killing herself every time she tries? Now for the question we've all been waiting for, will she finally make her choice between ELI and DAN? If so who will she chose and why? If there is a choice made will it ruin the relationship she has with the other? Most importantly what happened on that fateful night that took place on the last pages of Vol 3 that left us all screaming for more? I most certainly can't wait to find out what else happens in this awesome adventure I've spent almost two years waiting to learn the truths behind the life of Mattie Hathaway, The Ghost Girl. Apryl does an amazing job using a slow and steady build around the piece of this puzzle, and yes it leaves you on the edge of your seat waiting and needing to know more. This too, does end on another cliffhanger that will have you bouncing around every scenario you can come up with to figure where Vol 4 part two and presumably the end of Mattie's journey will take us. I for one can't wait !!!

Captivating story
EDIT* I'm editing my review for two reasons. 1st reason being that the lovely author said the wrong file was uploaded, oops, mistakes happen, and that's ok, so once the new version is approved, I can just re read it if I feel the need. Second reason, it is a good story, I do like it a lot. Although, I should have re-read the first 3 books or at least the last one before I read this one, as a bit of a refresher since I finished all three books in January of this year. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I felt like there were parts that became a tad repetitive. Just characters saying the same things several times or harping on the same subject too long. No biggy really. It is my understanding that the entire book takes place in one day, and there is a lot that happens. One thing I would have liked is a little more back story or a little more history or character development for a few of the characters. I really wanted to learn more about the demons and their history, and of Matties grandparents, and the Malone's mother and the Malone's themselves. But, maybe I'm getting ahead of myself and that's coming in a later book. I just found it a little hard to connect with a few of the characters not knowing a lot about them. Also, They go to the hospital far more times than anyone I've ever heard of, which if you've ever been to a hospital consists mostly of waiting around for several hours to be seen by a dr. and Mattie and Dan seem to get in and out of there in a no time flat. For all that happens in the book it just doesn't seem possible for all of that to have happened in that short amount of time. All that being said, it's still a very captivating book, and I very much enjoyed the story, and I am certainly looking forward to the next book coming out, I just hope we don't have to wait another year for it to come out and enjoy it. :)I want to rate it higher but can't. The first three books were so good, but this one is severely lacking. It is very repetitive, there are oodles of spelling and punctuation errors, missing words and the name of the missing girl keeps changing. I honestly think this book was rushed, and not proof read at all. I sincerely hope that the next installment of the series is more well rounded and proof read.

Good series
The story continues to flow. If you read all the books at one time parts get repetitious and the cast of characters gets confusing. There is just a little too much going on. I did like book 4 better than book 3 and I am interested in reading the next one.

such a great series
I recently began reading the series and make it through 4 books in a week. I love the series and the author does a great job. However, it’s kind of frustrating how Mattie goes back and forth with being a bad*ss who doesn’t need anyone, to being needy and needing to be saved.

Thank God thats over!
Precisely that!...Thank God it's over! I scanned read the last quarter of the book. It was becoming more and more frustrating the more I read. The characters became stale, their relationships stale with each other. The families surrounding the main characters are confusing and new ones are introduced at a moment's notice, which confuses it further. The lineage of Mattie swaps i think with each book. We met her father, then her grandfather is introduced to us in the last 2-5 pages as the demon Silas. The book also feels far to long, not much happened apart from Mattie and Dan jumping for cut scene to cut scene. Cut out all the cheap from the part 1 and part 2 books and a much better book would of been had into one great story which would of encouraged me to read the last bok, book 5. But I am finding it really hard to read even part 2 of this now never mind book 5! And lastly the part in the book with Mattie and Dan in the lift is really stupid, it destroys the relationship between them and swings the back story in a different direction which wasn't enjoyable to read. I'm sure in the first book it is described that the age difference between them is too much to. We are told over and over again that Mattie has a guardian angel but he is never with Mattie, instead just say at home! While Mattie is getting hurt and in more and more apparent dangerous situations. My last gribe is the wording to! Words like 'fudgepops' and even a 'holy fudgepops'! Wow. Would of given two stars but I'm generous and the first books were half decent saved another star to three!

A great (half) book but should've been published as the complete story
Expensive, as only half the story. I really wish that the whole book had been released together, as a complete novel. Had this been the case, this would've been a five star review. If you enjoyed the other books, it's well worth reading, in spite of the grammar errors. Although salient plot information is included, I do think that you shouldn't read this as a standalone novel. I read the first book for free, then bought the 1-3.5 book pack on Kindle, as I enjoyed the first book so much. The author (should she read this review) would be thrilled to know that I've only paid for her books on Kindle; every other book has been a free download.I hope that the second part of the book is released soon, as it has been a long wait for this to be available.

Keeps getting better and better
Wow I love paranormal books but some are just so predictable. The Ghost Files are the opposite, they keep you intrigued and literally on the edge of your seat. I can never guess correctly what's going to happen. Love it.

A darker subject
Mattie Hathaway doesn’t just see ghosts, she feels them, hears them, and often gets pushed to the brink of death by them. This time, it isn’t just her who suffers the consequences and anyone who is left standing has a new gift to show for it.There is something very addictive about this series. Mattie is a character who gets under the reader’s skin and in this book she becomes a darker, stronger subject with a richer past. Of course, now that I’ve read it I’m itching for part two.
