We have always lived in the country so barking dogs were no big deal. We moved to a neighborhood in Welches, OR. where our neighbors don't appreciate our dogs very verbal way of talking so we ordered one collar to see if it would work.YES it works great so we have since ordered 2 more. I love that you can set to shock on a first, second, or third bark. There are options to set it to vibrate, shock, or you can record your own voice to yell at your dog. You can set it to do a combination of all or just one or two.Highly recommend. My dogs know when the collars are on no barking allowed. After 3 days the barking has minimized to rumbles and our neighbors are happy.These are humane because I dont believe in hurting my dog for training for any reason.

Was skeptic because of mixed reviews but this collar is great. I can put it on progressive automatic and customize my voice via the app. For level one, I recorded just my voice telling the dog to quiet down. For level two if he continues to bark he gets the quiet down recording and a small vibration. For level 3 if he keeps barking he gets a much louder recording of me yelling to quiet and a stronger vibration. He usually stops barking after the first level. I couldn’t believe it! I’ve only had it a few days and already he barely barks when a week ago he never stopped. I tried charging it after 3 full days of use but it barely needed more charge. I take it off at night as it is a bit clunky and they need time with no collar.I like the app, it’s easy to use. Bluetooth doesn’t work great. I’m an app developer so I’m pretty critical of apps but the UX was easy and it was simple to change the tone, record my voice, change settings, etc. Connecting the Bluetooth is the tricker part and it I connects frequently but I don’t even need to use the phone as a remote since the collar works on its own. You have the option to only use a remote but I’d rather do less work.Doesn’t pick up his growling noises or quick high pitched yelps even on highest noise level detection but that’s liveable.

While I believe this product would be great for a younger, I was so disappointed it did not work well for my 14 year old who has recently started a habit of barking at night. Maybe I am not doing something right but I took it up to the highest level of shock that I thought would not physically hurt him and he notices it, pauses, curls his lips, but then continues. I simply can't make myself give him the maximum shock because I didn't like how it felt on my hand, and I just can't do that to my feeble little guy.I do think it is a quality item and would work on a younger dog, especially one just being trained. I will try it on my 3 year old and if he does okay I will certainly update this review and rating. I want to be fair to the sellers, but also honest about my experience to help others that may assume this is the answer for an elderly dog. (It may or may not be.) But the product operates well and recognizes barks properly, and I loved the options of handling the settings and remote on my phone app.

The suggested static level of this collar for my dogs age and weight is 15 to 20. So I started there. Worked my way up to 40 before testing it on myself (as you should) since she had ZERO response to any shocks. You’re supposed to go up gradually until it’s bordering on painful, then drop it down one. That’s not even possible for this collar! It’s so weak I put it to the highest setting (99) and it STILL wasn’t even CLOSE to painful. Those little prank zapper toys used by 10 year olds are 100x harsher of a zap than this collar on 99! What a joke. Needless to say, even at 99 my dog is still nonstop barking through all the “zaps” (that feel more like warm vibration)If you have a stubborn dog, pass this collar by and find a REAL shock collarEDIT:We checked this collars voltage with a voltage meter. It was a whopping (sarcasm) 0.06 Volts on 99…not to mention you could test it 6x on the same level and get 3 different levels (on 99 it was 0.12 once, 0.06 4x, and 0.04 once), confirming how hilariously weak this collar is. We returned this one and bought a Real shock collar (which costs $10 less than this one mind you, but doesn’t Bluetooth to your phone and instead has a remote) and I redid the testing on myself and with the voltage meter. Let’s just say the other collar on 99 was this collar on 1 haha. I made it up to level 60 on the new collar which was 4V, and tested level 99 on the new collar with the volt meter and it was 18V o.o so, HUGE difference.This collar: max of 0.06 voltsReal shock collar: max of 18 voltsAnother big downside, this collars battery doesn’t last nearly as long as the new (real) one I got.

We purchased this product to dissuade our two four-year-old shelties from barking at squirrels, lawn mowers, and our several neighbors' dogs when they're also outside in their fenced-in yards. We used it on vibrate and voice modes, never shock. The APP works well with our phones as described if we are fairly near our dogs. Therefore we recommend this product. However, the Bluetooth from phone to collar is about 50 feet. Our dogs are greater than 50 feet from the phone when in our 65-foot-deep yard. Since we aren't always outside with our phones with them it's not consistently effective for our purpose. This was evidenced by our dogs continuing to bark when not in proximity to us. Keep this in mind and buy this very useful training tool collar.
