Mondo Games Unmatched: Deadpool

If you play Unmatched you should get this character. A ton of fun

I got to use the Deadpool set for the first time last night, when a friend brought it out to a game night. At first, we thought it was just kind of a meme deck and wouldn't play all that well... but then the game got going (Deadpool vs Invisible Man) and playing Deadpool ended up being a ton of fun :-)As always, the card artwork and the mini both look fantastic - huge kudos to the Mondo team for doing such great art design! They really do a phenomenal job of bringing each character to life in both the art style and the choice of abilities. Deadpool has a huge variety of wacky abilities, that are either shamelessly ripped from other characters decks or or unique to Deadpool (i.e. "If there's food on the table, attack value is 5"; "If you with the match, your opponent buys you a drink"). Additionally, he's only got 10HP, but has lots of healing cards & a special ability that heals 1 after each attack. With all of this mixed together, Deadpool ends up being verrrry thematic - he feels like a slightly insane character that is surprisingly hard to kill. My opponent even remarked halfway though the match: "Man - he is SUPER annoying to fight!" <<< that's Deadpool 100% :-DMy only criticism of the set is that its a bit expensive for just one character, doesn't come with a board and the card instructions can be kind hard to read on some of the cards.Bottom line: Deadpool is a super fun character & a great addition to the game that will definitely add a few laughs to game night. Another great unmatched character. I love how his cards are cards from other character's decks drawn over. Love this game. Can't wait for more Marvel characters

each 'character' in unmatched is a deck of mostly arbitrary powers that you're locked into. there is no strategy here, it is just learn and play the deck. it is a terrible trend in games. the idea is that theme matters more than depth of gameplay. "oh, people like deadpool! so if we give them a locked deck of mostly uninteresting powers, they'll eat it up." idiocracy come to life. just bad
