Helping Yourself With Magikal (Magical) Oils A-Z

I am very pleased that I decided to purchase this resource. As a beginner with the creative arts, this book is very helpful to know the meaning, the purpose, and use of almost any oil and the plant or the root, that the oil derives from. All of the oils are listed from A-Z. There are the names of oils that you may have never knew existed, such as Wormwood, Yuza Yuza, and Zorba. This is a great reference or dictionary. This book definitely helps, to find the definitions of oils, to better understand the reason that the spell requires a particular ingredient to be used. The definition explanations are straight-forward and simple to understand. I bought this book in April 2019. So far, I have seriously used and read this book weekly, for religious rituals. This is a resource that I can definitely continue to use in the future, such as several years from now. This book definitely belongs in the library of an individual, who practices the arts- for the amateur and the advanced practitioner.

This book is descriptive and nicely assembled. Nothing to write home about overall, but a good addition to any esoteric book collection.

I love this book on Magical oils, Maria does an excellent job of breaking down the various uses for spiritual oils, you also get rituals on how to use the oils with prayer and also recipes for some oils. the book is chock full of just about every oil and its usage, this is my go to book on oils and how to use them. no serious magician should be without a copy of this book.

I bought this book because I have some interest in Hoodoo and this book promised recipes for magical oils, which I have some interest in. To get 'free shipping' I needed to buy a bit more from amazon so I got this book and figured if it gives me formulas for some of the classic hoodoo oil recipes the money would be well spent.Instead, this book is from a 'spiritual authority' - of 'new age' credentials. As someone very aware that appropriating Hoodoo lore and NOT giving it attribution helps to diminish and destroy the source from which the lore springs. None of the lore contained in this book is attributed to more than the author's psychic powers.Importantly the book is of no use to anyone wanting to make their own magical oils. The book describes how oils are used, and while there are recipes for some oils - the recipes themselves use prepared oils!There is a big difference between herb infused oil and essential oil - and the author fails to demonstrate any awareness of this distinction. An important distinction when missing, makes every recipe in the book impossible to work with!The only person I could recommend this book to is the owner of a Botanica or spiritual supplies business, because this book does explain how to use many of the oils that are sold by such businesses are used. However, even then, the book is very poor because it doesn't give the source for any of the spells, or even clarify that they are author invented and what principles are used in the invention process.If the author had done the research, what herbs are infused in which oil to yield the magic oil - for all the oils - I'd give 5 stars because that's USEFUL. If there were no recipes, but simply spells using the oils, and the spells were properly attributed to the tradition from which the come - that would be 4 stars!As is, this is a book written for consumers of magic oils, consumers that believe in the authority of the author, and this belief powers the results possible with this book.I'm a Chaos Magician and I'm learning Hoodoo, and for me this book is nothing more than an insult to my intelligence!

Great reference book to have in your library for your all magickal herbs and oil mixes. Good value for money
