The lid is not tight. It closes on top.

Hello, thank you for the question. The lid rest on top of the bin and does not latch or seal shut and will swing open if turned upside down.

Q: Are these marked made in the usa like some of their other containers?

Just received mine. Made in China is clearly printed on label. Nice container though.
