fun from start to finish
Another great read. Nice to read books full of positive vibes. I’m hoping the next one reveals a spot that I’m convinced contains yet more treasures!

To Wed or Not to Wed
I've now read all five of the Summer Beach books, and while I've enjoyed all of them, this one fell a little flat for me. The situations are still interesting and often fun (especially the scenes with the socialite and neighbor Darla), as is the dialogue, but the relationship between Ivy and Bennett didn't hold true to me (as it had in the previous books). I realize that this is a "sweet" or "clean" romance, and I'm not expecting or wanting explicit sex scenes, but two people in their 40s, both of whom suffered loss, would, from my own experience, want more intimacy and romance than is depicted here. Too many kisses on the cheek and forehead. Really? A romantic weekend getaway would have been great for these two. I also got frustrated with Ivy's back and forth re her feelings for Bennett. One minute she's counting the ways she loves him, and the next she's looking for red flags. I was satisfied with the conclusion, and really liked Carlotta's words of wisdom. I'm still a big fan of Jan Moran, and love that her heroines are older women (in this series and the Coral Cottage series) and have already pre-ordered Book 6 and Book 3 of the Coral Cottage series.

Another book in the series I couldn't put down!
A continuation of the Summer Beach series! Ivy and her sister are determined to make a huge old house, located in Summer Beach, CA, a quaint little town on the coast of southern CA, into a destination success. While updating the old home she inherited after her husband died, she discovers that its original owners hid many secrets in their house. As the sisters try to make the old home into a thriving business, including as a wedding venue, they discover hidden rooms, art, and try to piece all the discoveries together and find out the stories hidden in the house! Jan Moran weaves characters so well that you almost feel like you personally know each and everyone! These are delightful books and ones I can't put down!

Life can be complicated until we stop to think about things.
Ivy and Shelly Bay are still learning a lot of things about the inn, and they are learning a lot about themselves too. They are both engaged, but the past sometimes causes doubts about the now.A series of events happen that sometimes makes them feel like they are on the right path and have made the right choices, but the same events can also show them why rush into things, take more time, and the brain gives them mixed messages. Sometimes, like most of us, they make life complicated. It is a time of discovering who they are now, deciding the direction of the inn, and their friends, family, and guest of the inn, coming together. This book continues the series so nicely, it answers some questions, but it also leaves us with an opening for another book in the series.

great series
I’ve read books 1 through 5 back to back in this series. It has been a great series. I have to admit I’m going to take a break and read something else before I continue with the next five books. It’s truly a great read.

A perfect and unexpected wedding! Woo-hoo!
What struck me about this fifth episode in the Summer Beach series is the love and concern between the two sisters, Ivy and Shelly. They watch out for each other, are respectful of their feelings, and even though they might occasionally bicker, they are genuine and authentic in their relationship. The big surprise at the end showed how Ivy thought about Shelly the entire time, even sneaking into her closet to take measurements. Most sisters aren't as close and caring as Ivy and Shelly. There is competition, jealousy, old wounds, and family favortism that causes schisms between siblings. Not so with Ivy and Shelly. Of course, they had great parents but they also show a lot of maturity and they are the best of friends. This story was so heartwarming and affirming of female friendship and sisterly love. It makes me hopeful and feel good that positive relationships are possible.

Not as good as the first 4 in series
I’m mid way through and I just don’t understand why the author thought to put a negative spin once again with Darla when everything was resolved in a previous book….made no sense to me. I put the book down 2 weeks ago and unlike the other 4 prior, I’m not in a hurry to get back to it.

A happy ending
While I enjoyed the series I found this book a little too philosophical. It worked well tying evereverything together but it didn't have the same uplifting feeling for me as the earlier books.
