Camino Island

I read this because I got in on a discussion of the novel on social media and discovered it was set on Amelia Island, my old haunting ground. Also, I liked John Grisham books so I thought I would give it a try. It didn't disappoint and was very good. I enjoyed the characters and the setting with lots of surprise twists. Also, he gave some writing tips through the story also. Would recommend it for all who want an island getaway without all the expense... Looking forward to reading his next book in the series, Camino Winds.

Good novel, a very nice summer read even though I read it in spring. A good plot not too complicated that I would have loved to read out on a beach somewhere.

À tombeau ouvert, toutes voiles dehors, au grand galop. La métaphore est au choix, le résultat est le même. Grisham vous emporte à cent à l'heure. Sa maîtrise, sa capacité à poser les personnages et à faire avancer l'intrigue sans clichés mais sans vraiment déranger non plus, dégage une grande impression de confort pour le lecteur. On est entre de bonnes mains.Celui-ci n'est pas un polar judiciaire. Je l'avais choisi à cause de Fitzgerald. Si j'avais un regret, c'est qu'il y a finalement très peu de Fitzgerald dedans. Mais on se console vite. Le début, le vol des manuscrits, est bluffant de maestria. L'observation de la petite coterie d'écrivains réfugiés en Floride est savoureuse. Un peu idéaliste dans son dénouement, certes, mais ça ne fait de mal à personne.Je me suis régalée.

One of the best books I have read so far. The story is so simple and intriguing at the same time. This novel makes you fall in love with the characters and the place where the plot is created.
