A guilty pleasure
Natasha has a gift for making catchy tunes but she also takes herself just a little too seriously. At times, this works. The title song is brilliant without being overreaching, and is the shining star on what is a solid album. At the same time, sometimes her lyrics are embarassingly trite, and her mispronunciation of "hyperbole" makes one wonder how this could possibly have made it to production without someone saying "umm, Natasha..." And she spends too much time writing about the writing process; it's a little self-absorbed.But when we stop looking that closely, it's undeniable that the music is infectious and energizing, and the production is rich and flawless. You can groan about liking it, but you will like it. It's fun. If that's not what you're looking for this isn't the album for you.

Cute as can be.........
....and she can actually sing. And you can understand the words. And that's OK, because they're all clean. This album is the pop debut of English Gospel star Natasha Bedingfield, and is the British import version of another album of the same name. They are NOT identical. Eight of the eleven songs are the same. But in addition to being "Single", "Mad", and "Unwritten", here she's a "Bomb", and is worried about "Frogs and Princes". There's a different version of "Drop Me In The Middle", which I must confess I prefer on the American version.Natasha is a very pretty young girl, and is, indeed, "Unwritten"...a work in progress. She has a very pleasant voice, and "rocks", but not too hard. This is a fine album, and Natasha should only get better. Well recommended.

enjoyable debut
From Ms. Bedingfield.Had already heard "These Words" and "Unwritten" before buying this. It did take awhile longer before i actually purchased the cd. There were only a couple of songs that i didnt really enjoy "Frogs & Princes" and "If You're Gonna". I just didnt really get into them like i did on other songs. I enjoyed "I Bruise Easily" (always have enjoyed ballads and this no exception), "These Words", "Single" (liked that a lot as well the beat and theme behind the song make it good), "Drop Me in The Middle" w/Bizarre(D12) (dont how to describe it other than an odd pairing that really works), "Unwritten" and "Silent Movie".They all make for what is a great debut from a talented singer and songwriter (on every track Natasha writes). Nice one.

the soundtrack to my teenage years
I first heard unwritten in a shampoo ad years ago I fell in love with that song I used my birthday money when I turned 13 to buy a copy i am 22 now last year I accidentally set on it and broke it I was so upset I am glad I replaced it this album has seen me through some pretty hard times with its powerful message of hope and seeing joy in the everyday I think every teenager should have a copy of this album there is not one single bad song on it it's a must buy

She is, indeed, a DOLL..........
....but, here, the doll isn't quite as sweet as in her later album. She is "Unwritten"....a work in progress, "Single"....doesn't really need a man, needs "Wild Horses" to help her break free, has been hurt in a "Silent Movie", thus "I Bruise Easily", and is apt to "Stumble"..."not the kind of girl you bring to mother"; no, she's exactly the kind.Natasha is, in fact, a work in progress...beautiful girl with a clear, gorgeous voice. Clean lyrics, true to her background in Christian music. We're actually happy to be able to understand the lyrics. Don't worry about which of her albums to get; get them ALL, and enjoy....

Can't get her out of my head
I first heard Natasha while I was at the gym. Her hit "These Words" were on a music video. Thought it was pretty cheesy the first few times I saw it. Then it was pretty catchy. I had to buy the CD. Now, I skip over "These Words" and go staight to "Single", "Unwritten", and the rest. I'm going to have to buy another CD because I think I wore this one out. Track number 11 (The One That Got Away)is absoulutely awesome. This chick rates DIVA status. I am a geezer who still enjoys the likes of Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, etc. Listening to this album helps me get in touch with my feminine side (?) Go figure. My wife says that if she is stuck in my head, she'll probably die of loneliness. Thank you Sweetie Pie.

Excellent CD
I bought this cd after hearing 'Unwritten' on the radio. That song is so powerful, & came to me at a bad time in my life. It gives me hope, pure & simple. This is such a great cd, Natasha throws in so many styles of music. At times she reminds me of Pink, Madonna, Natalie Imbruglia, & Kelly Clarkson.I love the whole cd, but usually end up replaying 'These Words', 'Single', & 'Unwritten' over & over again because I love them so much.I love this cd, & highly recommend it.

Arrived in the timespan promised and in good condition
For pleasure - just as addition to this - I uploaded the CD to iTunes whereupon my security system wasn't happy with the CD. Turns out that in the CD were embedded advertisements for upcoming CDs. I'm not at all happy about this, particularly as I've paid for the CD and should not have to put up with adverts for other artists. I've deleted the CD from iTunes now and suggest you let your third party seller know this is what this CD carries. Thank you

Dead poets and drum machine
Bold and irrepressible. Full of edge, life and energy. This album captures the innocence and freshness of youth, and reflects a moment of time when everything was falling into place for Bedingfield, when she could be overtly optimistic and enthusiastic while remaining utterly genuine.Unwritten possesses a whole sound to it that feels completely original. Every track is beautifully and expertly produced. The songs consist of intelligent and inspirational lyrics that avoid all the usual pop clichés, and as a result are captivating and enthralling. Bedingfield is more than just a songwriter, she's a poet who is able to paint such a huge variety of amazing images in your mind as she sings. But the high quality production on this album is not just down to Bedingfield alone - while there is no doubt she is an extremely talented singer, songwriter and vocal arranger - the entire writing, music & production staff have achieved something uniquely special on these recordings. This is pop at its very best - the best of an era - if every pop album was this good, I'd buy them all. I think Unwritten should be required listening for anyone studying contemporary music styles. I reach for this album time and time again, and never tire of it, it's one of my firm favourites.

Such a treat, level of her own, just discover her!
A really good album to have, I always find it hard to make a Natasha Bedingfield playlist, I like all her music, she has so much to offer, but you can't give this album a miss. Apart from the well known tracks, there's a couple of other standout tracks as well, such as "size matters" and "frogs and princes", but also a track not available on this UK release is good, called "stumble". Really enjoyable to listen to overall!

One for the collection
This is a must for your CD collection. I can honestly say there isn't a single track on the album that I would contemplate pressing the skip button, it just gets better with every track. If you want to buy someone a CD for Christmas this year, this is the one. Natasha is in a class on her own, it's great at last find a female singer that has such fresh and exciting lyrics. Watch the music awards next year, this lady will win best newcomer hands down. Divas eat your hearts out this lady is here to stay.
