Fundamentally Flawed
This had made the difference of me going back to straight hair. I'm biracial and have very tightly curly semi-coarse hair. When I got it I was so excited to try it. My hair is not relaxed, had not been treated with oil spray and had not even been combed in days (because combing my hair through too often turns my curls into a frizzy fro). After having my son sections of my hair lost curl and thinned out due to hormones. My hair was tacky. I wasn't sure I was ready for all the work of relaxing my hair every month blow drying, every time I wash which is everyday and using a flat iron slowly over each section to straighten it only to walk out in summer heat and an hour later my hair is puffy. That being said, it worked! No relaxer. No nothing. I know that I can just allow my hair to air dry at night and brush it with my hot brush in the morning and boom! Va va voom. Its silky smooth. I'm dumbfounded by it and can't wait to have smooth silky hair again Instead of a curly well shaped bush!Update: I have amended my rating mainly do to it's function. Because of the weight of this brush at the brush head end, it is impossible to get leverage using it unless your hand is holding closer to the brush head where the buttons are. It has become very frustrating to find he buttons constantly get pressed and temperature changed while trying to straighten my locks. Also, the outer stiff bristles catch and rip at my hair and it HURT! I literally had to get wire cutters and cut them off. It easily flows through my now relaxed hair now but I have to be careful not to burn myself from the steam coming off of it.Basically, if its worth it to save a few bucks and get a cheaper version and be able to cut time off your routine you may want to buy this to replace a regular brush as it cuts time off styling. Choose wisely. I, myself, intend to get a better version once I can afford it.

Not great for finer hair
I have finer hair, and I have to hold my hair out straight and push the brush against it to get it to touch the heating plate. I was hoping to use it to just smooth the top layer and keep some body, but having to do this creates a flatter look than I was hoping for. I'm sure it's great for thicker hair, but I do not care for it for finer hair.

Worth it
Bought this for my fiancée and it works well, the only problem we noticed is if you have super thick or long hair it will take much longer than a straightener since there's just one heated side instead of two, so after about 12 to 15 min the unit back becomes very hot and gives a hot plastic odor and needs turned off for a few minutes to cool. Still not bad

Poor Design, Stopped Working within 5 Minutes
This product was both defective, and poorly designed.1.) There is no way to hold the brush without turning off the heat. The buttons are on the side where hands must hold the brush. If you hold it above the buttons, it is too hot, if you hold it below the buttons, no control over the brush.2.) Item was defective out of the box. It heated for a couple of minutes, then shut off on it's own. Then I turned it on, it lasted 1 minute before it shut off again. This repeated a couple more times until the product totally broke and never turned on again. Returned it.3.) In the short time I tried it, it did nothing to my hair. Then again, the thing didn't last 5 minutes.

My hairstyle is a shoulder length 'bob'. This brush ...
My hairstyle is a shoulder length 'bob'. This brush was bulky and hard to style that length with. Even though Ireturned it quickly, they charged a fee to do so.

Why pay more for a brush that works just as well at a fraction of the cost?
I am pleasantly surprised at the way this brush straightens my short hair! Wonderful product at a very reasonable price! I really wanted a similar straightening brush but the price tag was way too much ($80 at Meijer!). I was happy to find basically the same brush at a fraction of the price of one advertised on TV!

Falls flat.
Not impressed. A flat iron does a better job. Hard to use when brushing from underneath. Bristles do not grab all the hair.

probably better for long hair
Somewhat heavy, probably better for long hair, I have medium length hair and it doesn't work for my hair.
