Works good unless you have a heavy wind
I bought this because 1) I couldn't justify buying a heated section for my sidewalk and 2) it was on sale so I though I would give it a try. I also have bad knees on occasion to I thought this might help me not falling on my butt in an ice storm. Does it work? In a word, yup, but you need to make sure you can anchor it down because it comes in a role and the last part of the role is kind of a bugger to lie flat on a sidewalk (heavy winds can cause it to roll up so I had to anchor it down for awhile). My section rolls out about ten feet with a couple inches on my concrete porch held down by a heavy floormat. Does it help regarding ice ? It sure does! I will probably order at least one more section.

Moccha loves it!
My dog has had a hard time crossing the north facing concrete porch because of frozen rain and/or mist blowing in and making her hesitant. I don't like any of the ice melt products back there and, anyway, it takes forever to melt. It isn't laying flat but I put a mat on both ends. She is jumping up on the porch and crossing to the door without a problem. I hope it doesn't blow away and we will see how it works with 'wintry mix' again this weekend. For now, she goes in and out without a problem.

Arrived quickly, seems like it will do the trick
Using this to prevent falls from icy surfaces. It is porous so when ice melts the water drains through it. While moisture in it may freeze, the rough surface isn't slippery. This my first experience with northern weather and the attendant snow and ice.The inner end of the roll tends to not lay flat, but will probably flatten out after being used for a while. There are a lot of negative reviews, but they appear to be because of unreasonable expectations. Will probably update review after some experience with it.

Works for Pup
I got this for my 20 pound dog who is not a fan of the snow. We have a deck and then stairs to the grass. My pup insists on going down on the grass but its a bit of a walk so I got this to make it easier for her to walk down to the grass and not slip.It is fairly easy to clean. I keep a shovel by the door and in the morning I just slide it on the carpet and it gets most of it off. My dog doesn't mind the material of the carpet either. It does roll quite a bit, so I took some snow and packed down the sides to keep it level.Overall, I think it works fine and my dog seems to be liking it. She's not slipping and its fairly easy to clean. This winter has been brutal and its held up, so I'm satisfied overall.**UPDATE** I've had this for less than a month and it's already ripping. Definitely won't last longer than one season. Wish it was more durable.

Very thin density, depth should be indicated.
Purchased as a buffer from outside french doors to interior of home with wood floors. Expecting to brush bottom of shoes or boots, the thinness doesn't make that possible. Disappointing

Great for senior dog
We love this for our wide front porch steps. It helps our senior dog from slipping!

Snow Carpet
I’ve used a couple of these over the years and love them. My mailman appreciates me putting it down so he’s a bit safer coming on my porch. It doesn’t solve all my snow and ice problems but it definitely helps. CJ
