Warship 2021 High Quality Articles. Excellent. Job Well Done.
Warship 2021 is devoted to the design, development and service history of the world’s combat ships. In this volume there is an interesting article about the planned Soviet super battleships in the 1930s. The article includes tables and nice drawings of John Jordan. His drawing show the essential details, including internal views. There are two articles about the IJN (submarine of the I 15 class & Chitose and Chiyoda class (seaplane tender, midget submarine mother ship, hybrid and through deck carriers), all with line and internal drawings of the ships. There is also a redrawn circuit diagram of a Type 95 Torpedo Model I. The French navy is also present with two ships: Battleship Carnot (1T900s) and the new stealth frigates La Fayette (1990s). Included are articles about Germany’s small cruisers (1910), a study of the postwar development of sonar in the RN, and an account of the rebuilding from a passengers liner (Roma) to an aircraft carrier (Aquila). The level is the articles is high. Texts are supported by graphs, drawings, tables and notes, and bibliography. Warships 2021 also reviews a selection of naval books released in the last years. The book concludes with warships notes, A&A’s and a Warship Gallery (photographs of the U-889 taken in postwar trials in Canada. The Great Britain is present with two articles: one about the 1897 Royal Yachts, and the ‘O’ and ‘P’ class destroyers in 1943, a study about anti-submarine operations in the Atlantic. The articles are of high quality. The standard is set high. The variety is good: from subs to sea plane tenders, from Japan to Germany, from 1890s to 1990s. Covered are the lesser known ships (but not obscure ships), and that is a good thing. The book itself is made of thick high quality paper. The book does not fold back when you read it. The photographs are b/w but of high quality. The drawing are on one page, (not over two pages) and in most case turned 90 degrees.I highly recommend these books ( and previous warships). The books can be fairly technical but if you are interested in the design and development of warships, and their service history then a layman might want to own a copy.

WARSHIP 2021 IS SO WORTH THE PRICE!
John Jordan ed. has put together another superb collection of naval warship history. This is a heavy, thick book that oozes quality, the rich feel of the pages the glossy pictures. There are 224 pages of well-written articles and reviews.I was especially pleased to read about WW2 Japanese submarines. There is so little out there on the subject in English. Thank you Osprey Publishing for the added pages. Job well done John Jordan Editor.

A great variety of excellent articles on naval ships.
A great variety of articles which are well composed. I especially liked the article by Dirk Nottelman on light cruiser development of the Imperial German Navy.
