Great military fiction!
Very well written and very fast paced, and full of action. I would recommend this book and the author to anyone and everyone.

Another pretty good read in the series
Well it's not perfect, but as a light read goes it's pretty good as long as you don't get too picky about details. The author has this weird fascination with women being in combat which takes a little bit away from things but if you can get past that, it's not a bad story even if it is pretty far-fetched and much of what goes on is kind of implausible. The author is a good enough writer though that regardless of the level of plausibility it's still a good story to read and that's what's important. It's available in Kindle unlimited so I didn't even have to pay extra for it.

World War between the United States and its allies against Russia, China and its allies
The description of military action in this book and earlier books in the series is realistic, informative and entertaining. I do wish there was more of an attempt to tie together the principal protagonists in each of the books. There is no attempt to tie together the plots of each book within the overall development of the World War; that is, each book stands on its own with virtually no acknowledgement of prior campaigns and future prospects.

Written with the big screen flair of great war movies
William C Dietz writes like someone on Metro Goldwyn Meyer's staff from the 1960's when great movies like to Cast A Giant Shadow, Patton, The Longest Day were rocking the cinema. These books are filled with great techno, the dialogue is snappy and concise and Mary a Rambo in sight.

Mutants and zombies
I would have given this five stars, other than not being able to stretch my imagination in a scene better suited to a video game, but outside of that, it was a original tale with the proper twists and turns.

outstanding from the 1st page to the last!
I believe this book has exceeded its previous peers, not a moment of combat and house-to-house fighting was treated lightly, showing the horrors, confusion, courage, and sometimes just plain luck… either good or bad. The lead and support characters were all “fleshed out” enough that I found myself creating faces and uniforms for many of them. Best of all is “the Ice Queen” whose fearlessness and leadership under fire hides her doubts, second-guessing, and endless guilt despite making decisions that massacred Russian soldiers and saving the lives of her troops. This is a must-read book for both men and women, if nothing else to honor the courage and self sacrifice of military and civilian women. Read this book, even if you skip all the rest! Kudos, Mr. Diets…

Can not put novel down!!
Once. You start this novel you are hooked. Could not stop reading.Exciting plot of a harshly thrown together unit to be inserted into Russia to liberate a precious metal. Many battles under harsh conditions with 25% of the unit killed before finally escaping.

Red Thunder book 4
Best book I've read lately. Enjoyed every struggle the team went through. Lead by a women who knew how to command and pick the right personal for different jobs.. Would like to read more by this author. Want it to be 5stars.

Great Series
Just finished #3 & 4 - still have #5 & 6 to read - each book is a separate story and the books can be read in any order - each story is unique and different and focuses on different areas of the 3rd World War which China says the U.S. started and vice versa. No matter who started it, Russia and the Middle East are trying to take advantage of it, and it will be interesting to see how it ends. More books will follow #6.

If you ever read a book you can't put down, this is it!
This is an adventure where the heroes jump from one nail-biting confrontation to the next. You feel part of this incredible force. You hurt when characters you've come to know are lost and almost cheer when they overcome obstacles. The story is compelling and you won't want to put the book down once you start reading.

Smash And Grab
This is basicly a raid into Russia to obtain a rare mineral used in jet engins and rocket moters. A unit thrown together using enemy uniforms and weapons and little time for training or mission prep. Naturally things go wrong and a quick in out raid turns into a chase complete with running skirmishes and ever shrinking numbers and equipment. I liked it.

Another good story
The strength of the WoW series is that each book is self contained with its own plot and characters. This story cover infiltration into deepest Russia, recovery of important minerals, and a long difficult escape. As in any book of this type, the characters lack depth; but the fast plot carries you along.

Consistent
Mr Dietz writes very well about battles and the men and women who fight them, and this series is no exception. I look forward. to the next installment
