works fine
Like it because you can be further away from the sparks with the long shank.

Slightly niche, but when you need it, it's great.
The thing about angle grinders and cutoffs of any size, is that you need to work pretty close up to the grinding point or the tool skips and skims, forcing itself away to some degree or other.Enter grinders with extended handles... Yes they reach in, but you have to adjust your rate of cut to how much sway you now have with that increased length.Figuratively, if a grinder duct taped to the end of a 10 foot pole would have you barely able to grind at all, and a regular short angle grinder gives near limitless control, as long as you have access to get that close with such a large stubby tool, then this one has a difficulty/of 4 out of 10 :DWhen you need it though, you don't care how long it takes, if it fits, and it's cutting, it's going to potentially save you hours of work, plus you can hold it further up for jobs that don't require a long reach, lightening it, and giving you back that control. It's heavy, but again, relative to how and where you're holding it.I find myself using the spark guard as a brace, almost like a reciprocating saw, which might not be the best idea in so far as longevity goes for that part.It does bind, despite what other reviews are saying, but it isn't that fussy, and doesn't do it continuously. It's built like a tank... I expect this to last me a while.

Awesome tool and great quality
I was a tool guy where I sold Snap on Tools and Matco Tools for over 6 years and this cutter is built very well and a definite necessity for fabrication work. I had a Dynabrade for many years which worked well but died and then tried a cheap one here from Amazon and it was weak and basically a piece of junk. This Aircat cutter is a great tool and worth every penny.

A nice tool to have in the automotive repair business.
I need a long reach cut wheel for sometime. Aircat has a good reputation and it was over a hundred dollars cheaper than snap-on or mac. It is heavy and I don’t believe it spins a 15,000 rpm’s. But it does work well.

Best new kit item
I purchased this to cut a IDF cabinet off of a wall mount while not cutting into the fiber optic cables that can never be severed. We set up the time to cut the cabinet out and this tool ripped straight through the steel like it was butter. There is a clutch like stop that will not try to over torque you or jump off of your cut line and cut some fiber optic cables and cause a disruption that lots of people would be super pissed off about. We were able to complete our cuts in less that one hour. We thought it would take the better half of the day to accomplish this much work. So... four years into the future. I have used this for so many plumbing repairs, I have cut exhausts off of cars, I have scraped the top off of bad stripped bolts just to weld a nut onto and then back out. This is for sure worth the $197 sale _ 1000% _ over again and again

Surprisingly good quality tool
The Aircat extended-reach cutoff tool is a real outlier for an imported air tool. It doesn't suffer from any of the many typical problems with air tools. It has good air (and therefore speed) control. The published horsepower numbers are truthful. The air consumption (tool efficiency) is very good for the tool's power. It doesn't stall easily. It will operate well on a large range of air pressures (even at the end of a long line where dynamic air pressure may be less than desired when measured unloaded and running). The guard is functional and easily adjustable. The paddle and safety switch are well designed.I can't speak to the longevity of the tool, but the functionality is top notch.

missing parts
arrived fine, went to use it months later, the back up washer for the disc lock is missing, wont clamp the cutting disc so it wont cut. Wrote to AIRCAT to ask for a new washer to make it work, NO RESPONSE!I have seven other AIRCAT tools in my shop, we are done with this company.
