Fishing for Kids: A Complete Illustrated Guide to Fishing. Basics, Tips, Techniques, Easy explained.

Bought for great nephew's 11th birthday, he says its cool, with lots of info...

Waste of money! This can’t really be aimed at children 🤔….the illustrations are generally very poor and are mainly just blurry black and white sketch drawings (and not very good sketches either!)…. you have to wade through c55 pages of text before you even get to the first image - the cover image promises much but it just doesn’t deliver.

This was supposed to be a birthday present for my Grandson (6). However it is quite clearly American and tends to cover all aspects of their lure fishing rather than the British style of fishing. It is poorly written, there are very few pictures, just black and white diagrams. And the most disturbing, the amount of articles describing techniques for making your own lures etc using Knives and saws and other very sharp objects. The title of this book is "Fishing for Kids", not the title you would expect when it has so many references to using knives etc.Don't waste you money buying this.

This "book" looks like its been taking straight from the family computer and put together. The Illustrations are terrible quality. A book for kids, but as an adult, even I struggled to get my head around it.

I bought this book for a 10 yr old boy who has just taken up fishing with a vengeance and he LOVES IT!

The book is really poorly put together. The diagrams are all blurry and look as if they have been badly copied and pasted together. It’s not child friendly. Not a single bit of colour in the whole thing. It is dull looking and uninteresting.

I purchased this for someone's birthday and it was such poor quality the illustrations were all blurred and out of focus. 0 out of 10. I purchased another book from Waterstones. And have found a good use for this crap, ripping out the pages and using them for lighting my BBQ. PLEASE ! PLEASE ! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

No illustrations. Looked like it had been photocopied. Not paying £10 for this poor book. Sent it back.

From the description I was hoping for a colourful, well illustrated and simple book for kids (8-12yo) to explain fishing concepts, in steps etc. Unfortunately the first half is all text and the illustrations, all black and white, in the 2nd half mostly feel like they were photocopied and enlarged with poor quality, like fax from 1986. The book is written in large slabs of text, which is not engaging for kids, and dives complicated concepts like making your own lures etc. Also very American-centric but much of the info can be used elsewhere.

I expected a lot more. I am a children’s librarian and this was bought to add to our collection. It was a waste of money and I will be returning it. The cover is deceiving as the inside is black and white - no photographs, just blurred illustrations that look as though they have been copied from a computer by someone who doesn’t know what resolution is. It’s a self published book through Amazon. Steer clear! My students won’t be interested - it was supposed to be for kids.
