The quality of the book is perfect. You wouldn't think it was used. I'm so grateful. This series is so underrated it's impossible to find the books in English. I had to read the last 3(?) volumes on this one site. But definitely recommend.

Sad that Tokyopop went under... Last book but not ending of Immortal Rain
I LOVE this series... Been following it since day one. Was sad when I realized that Tokyopop went under and wasn't gonna be able to finish it. But I found the rest of the story online mangafox.com. But upset that it is not finished on my bookshelf where it should of been... :( A must read series!

Review
This was as the last in the book.i do still believe that the novels should have ended with book number 4, it would have been a very poetic ending to these novels.this book continues the themes of love, and what right as we watch yet another couple forming in the group.

Kaori Ozaki is the best. Her work is amazing. Any manga fan needs this whole series.

Immortal Rain continues to please
Another good addition to the Immortal Rain series, and worth buying, particularly since it's the second-to-last volume.Volume 8 of Immortal Rain continues where the plot left off in Volume 7, and is well-paced and features a lot of action. The character development is a bit slim, but since the series has lost some momentum, it's understandable that Ozaki wants to get the plot moving faster. The artwork was better than it was in Volume 7, and that's fortunate, because the action scenes hold up because of the artwork. The only real complaint I have with the book is that it introduces a new romance, one I felt was a bit contrived and shoved in there last minute. I found it especially disappointing because the romance/friendship of Machika and Rain didn't get a lot of development. The Yuka/Rain/Machika dynamic, however, got fair amount of attention and I'm interested to see where it will go next.Even if you lost interest with the seventh or sixth volume, the newest Immortal Rain is definitely worth your money and time, if only to see how it all ends.

Hopefully someone will pick up the series fo rthe last three books...
Kaori Ozaki, Immortal Rain, vol. 8 (Tokyopop, 2006)The last (as of this writing) volume of Immortal Rain to be published in English (the series runs 11 tankobon in total, but with the demise of Tokyopop, this may be the last we ever get in English) took me almost six years to get my hands on. I can kind of see why--this looks to be the volume where the weight of the myriad threads of plot Ozaki has been balancing so carefully in the last few volumes may have borne down too hard. While it's still a solid, action-packed series, it seems to lose its way a bit here--which is odd considering this is the volume where a lot of formerly disparate pieces start coming together into what I assume is the final story arc. It's great to be back with these characters again--I read vol. 7 way back in July of 2007, and I've missed Machika, Rain, and the crew something fierce. And maybe that's part of why this volume seems a bit of a letdown. ***

A favourite
I got this second hand and pretty beat up, but the point is, the art style only improves with each volume, and this manga has a good fusion of shoujo and shounen elements as well as an original plot.Be warned, though, that this was the last volume localised out of 12, though the series is complete in Japan.
