GREAT DEVEINER/PEELER
I noticed that there are some bad reviews on this but I believe that operator error should not be considered in a review. Size may actually matter, you can't put the square peg in the round hole, etc... This deveiner will save you lots of time prepping your shrimp if you use a little common sense. IT WORKS GREAT ON MEDIUM TO LARGE SHRIMP. Does not work well with really large shrimp(will get stuck) or really small shrimp(will pass through missing the blade) but can you really expect it to? I shrimp recreationally, and on a good night I have up to 48 quarts of whole shrimp to clean. This little baby helps me knock it out in no time! In the last year I've caught more shrimp than most of the negative reviewers have bought in their lifetime and this baby's cleaned 'em all. I've tried other deveiners but this is the best I've seen yet and the price is right so what are you waiting for? Or of course you could just keep using that hand deveiner that doesn't half work ;)

Not worth the money
The shrimp Butler looked easy to use. It did not take off the tales and devein very easily. The shrimp repeatedly got stuck inside.

A piece of junk
Based on the video, I bought this item. Ahhh...just cannot trust what my eyes saw.Pros:1. Cheap and mechanical. That's it, folks.Cons:1. A S^%%$$$**** to clean.2. Does not work. It mangled up the shrimp and just chopped up the shrimp veins and poops.Summary: Save your hard earned money for something else. It made look like a fool in front of my wife for buying junks on the Net.

It’s a piece of junk. It worked twice after I received it. Too much money to pay for something that doesn’t work. Was too late to return it when. I tried to use it the third time.

Better than I expected!
One weekend I bought 15 - 20 lbs of shrimp and while peeling them I thought "there's GOT to be a better way!". Having seen this item recently I decided to take a chance and order one even though I was skeptical about it and to see if it would in fact expedite the peeling and deveining process. I recieved it two days after placing the order but, it was about two or three weeks later before I got to use it. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised after the first dozen or so shrimp. If you peel a lot of shrimp this gadget might be something you should consider having. It's something I definitely recommend.

which tells how much we like the product
This is a second Shrimp Butler for us, which tells how much we like the product. It makes the process of cleaning the shrimp so much quicker compared to doing it by hand. It doesn't handle very large shrimp/prawns very well, but works fine for the smaller and medium sizes that we prefer.

Shrimp Butler...time saver
This product works very well and is a time saver. With very large shrimp it does not work. The shrimp get stuck but otherwise it works very well on other size shrimp.

Sort of works
The shrimp butler works ok, but not great. I find that often mashes the shrimp while de-veining the shrimp. The shrimp de-veiner is expensive for what it does.
