Great solution to dry firing your .38 special. Every gun has its own trigger pull force, and getting to know your weapon requires pulling the trigger quite a number of times to get the feel for it. These prevent damage to the mechanism that may result from repeated dry firing. Try it with the double action feature, then try it with the hammer cocked so you get the feel for when it fires under both conditions.

No problem with fit in my revolver or speed loader. Solid product, would buy again.

This is a good concept as SS is more durable than other popular aluminum snap caps. Unlike some plastic snap caps, these have an appropriate shape as a cartridge instead of a shortened, flattened front end. Because they are steel, they weigh more than other snap caps, but they still weigh only approximately half of an average .38 spcl cartridge. The rim is not as thick as real cartridges. The OAL is slightly shorter than real cartridges.They have a large silicone area at the rear, larger than a primer, that will absorb firing pin hits. This should be durable also.I use these .38 caps for practice loading from speed loaders into a revolver and then unloading from the cylinder. The weight helps them drop from the speed loader into the cylinder and helps clear them from the cylinder.Unfortunately, five of the 12 I received had slightly oversized rims that would not release from my HKS speed loaders. I took 45 minutes and stoned the rims into the correct diameter and everything is working fine now.I believe these will hold up well and serve their purpose. I think in todays world of precision machining that slight dimensional imperfections are avoidable, especially with some specific quality control that checks dimensions. It would also be possible to make them closer to the weight of a loaded cartridge, although then they would not be as much like ejecting spent casings. Trade off.Overall, these are a good value. I have other calibers on order and I will check their dimensions before using them. Undersized probably won't be a problem, but oversize could be, especially in a semi-auto. Caveat emptor.

Over all these seem pretty good.They are solid and are easily distinguishable from real ammo.However the rim Is a bit bigger than what it should be and because of that the snap caps don't fit well in speed loaders. They get hung up instead of dropping freely so practicing reloading with a speed loader is not possible.I took them and sanded down the rim to get them to work for me.But if all you're are using them for is dry firing then they work fine.

I bought the red tip version and they did not come in a storage tin but in a small ziplock bag. Small disappointment, but they do what they need to do. Good for breaking in a new revolver by dry firing. They fit speed strips fine, load and eject smoothly.
