For an older movie, it was pretty good. Love Nicholas Cage and Tommy Lee Jones

In one of those early 1990s movies, we have FIRE BIRDS, a miliary movie with Army Apache Helicopters and the crews that fly them.Starring Nicolas Cage, Sean Young and Tommy Lee Jones as active-duty Army crew members learning and flying these military war machines.Tommy Lee Jones is the leader of a mission set forth by the high brass to counter a drug cartel's ambitious plan to get drugs across the border.There only obstacle is a high trained mercenary with a very versatile helicopter with high powered weapons.Nicolas Cage and Sean Young are the lead Army couple, of sorts, to engage the enemy and will need all their cunning skill to defeat the mercenary after attempts have been futile.The movie looks okay, I think it could have been better here on Blu-ray. There seems to be no work on it to clean it up, etc. I don't recall this being on Blu-ray before, but it could use a nice cleanup and a good 4K version with 7.1 Atmos. So you watched Top Gun and really liked it, but have you seen the Nic Cage version also from the same era? This time with choppers and simulators? Well here you go. I remember watching this on broadcast TV as a kid and remember enjoying it but watching it today, all it does is the amazement of the era and seeing Nic Cage during his prime years do his thing. Even for a second rate movie.... still a fun watch just for those but if you're looking to find a Top Gun level movie this isn't it.

This was one of my childhood favorites growing up. Now having seen it again later in life, I know why this movie was pretty bad. However, it's still a fun watch.

Amazon has this rated at 4.5 stars. Google has it rated at 2.5 stars. Myself, I will give it a solid 2 stars, and that's being generous. The writing for this movie, with it's high school level macho man lines, are corny at best. Definitely a Class B movie at best.

Fire Birds met more then expected. I took a big risk ordering after reading the other reviews. But I can say hand on heart it will play on European players. Mine is region 2 Samsung Smart, plays perfectly, Pictures great, sound 2.1 but th then you can't have everything. Well worth the price.

This movie is great, but the subtitles are annoying!!Good flying combat scenes, but Nicolas Cage is mis-cast.Overall, a great action movie!

Wasnt able to play on English dvd player, wrong region. Did not state on sales its region was for America

If you liked Topgun, you'll like this. It is basically Topgun, but with the amazing AH-64 Apache.Topgun makes you want to be a fighter pilot, Fire Birds makes you want to be an attack chopper pilot.
