Looks awesome but doesn't sit flush with the wall.
Love this look! The plate itself came wrapped in bubble wrap and also tissue paper that looked rather professional and classy. The only thing that worried me is that it came in a mailing envelope so I was scared it would have sustained some damage. But they did a great job wrapping it and it was in great shape. The plate itself is about a centimeter or two shorter on all sides than the stock white plastic plate the NEST comes with. But I was okay with that. Only thing that I can possibly say is a draw back is that the back of the slate plate is that it is completely flat. When I installed the plate, the bracket it is screwed to makes the plate not sit flush with the wall so there is a little gap. I took the plate of and tightened the bracket screws which helped a little.I would only suggest that the makers of the Wall Plate is to mill out an area on the back where the screws would be, much like the stock plate the NEST comes with (the back has an area where the screws and plate can go so that the mounting plate will be flush). Other than that, I love the look. I can easily calk the edges to make it look more presentable from the sides.

I ordered two and both arrived in good conditions. This pate must be installed FIRST before NEST base. Make sure to use two long screws (that came with your Nest) to install this slate plate on two pre-drilled HORIZONTAL holes on the wall. I used a pencil to mark the center on each hole, drew a horizontal line using an angle finder (to level), and used a small drill-bit to drill a small hole before I screwed in. Never over-tight the screws because the slate is fragile. Lastly, I recycled two screws from my old thermostat to install the nest base at/(on top of) the center of the plate vertically.

Who do I have to hug for these plates. We brought two of them. Upstairs and downstairs. We’re extremely happy with this purchase. Cost A+ style&material A+ Delivery & packaging A+ . Giving myself D+ for not purchasing this sooner. We love our nest but adding this made me fall in love all over again.Get yourself this no regrets!

Add some class to your Nest
This came wrapped well and I receive it with no issues, cracks or abnormalities.Installation took about 5 minutes. It is just removing your nest base and reinstalling it on top of the slate panel.Because the slate is perfectly flat on back if your wall or the metal mounting plate behind the nest isnt perfectly flat the slate will have a gap to the wall. This is NOT the products fault. I easily fixed mine with some painters caulk. All in all the look is very finished and "luxury"

Great product with a very simple and easy to use ...
Great product with a very simple and easy to use design. This fit perfectly with my 3rd gen nest and looks great. There was a small chip in the corner which is the only reason I'm leaving 4-stars, but it wasn't even significant enough to warrant contacting the company to complain. I would absolutely recommend this product to anyone looking for a wall plate to accompany their nest thermostat.

Beautiful
Exactly what I was looking for (once it found me while browsing Amazon, that is). Easy to install. Yes, you do have to uninstall your Nest, remove the original plastic baseplate, pull the wires out and redo with this new plate. But it was just as easy as it was the first time installing Nest (part of the reason why Nest is also awesome). The slate stone is beautiful, really makes your thermostat pop. It becomes an art form on your wall instead of a utility. Good price, fast shipping. Highly recommended!

It's really heavy.
It's looks ok, keep in mind this is actually really heavy and it pretty much a piece of thick rock. The overall look it's a bit more opaque. No instructions were included however it's pretty much señf explanatory, you do need to uninstall the whole Nest device including cables to install the plate.Also I got a feeling mine was used and not new. Picture attached.

Cover that unsightly prior thermostat footprint
Perfectly fits my Nest and the shadow left on the wall from the prior thermostat. Looks elegant. I am taking one star off due to the price. In fairness, the quality is nice.
