Great nail biting ending!
The story rolled along at a good pace following Dragozin Hector and the wonderful Keralti as they continue their quest to find a way to defeat their enemies.

WORMS!
I think this is the first time that any book of fiction has made me seriously wonder about the biology of worms or how I'd feel if I had to deal with giant ones. (Admittedly, I haven't read Dune).Anyway, this was one of my most anticipated books of '21 (aside from its sequel, of course), and it did not disappoint. I don't usually preorder items, but my experience with this series has been immensely satisfying, so it was an easy decision to make. One of the things I find most enjoyable about these books from a plot/organizational standpoint is that they expand upon multiple plot threads in a single book, without feeling bloated or spread thin. There's nothing wrong with focusing on a single plot thread, but it is highly limiting. With James' books, the books feel more... interesting because of the added complexity. Hector is usually dealing with multiple issues at once, and it is a matter of juggling myriad problems while trying to find the optimal solution.Spear of Destiny also did a wonderful job at delineating the mysteries of this world, as well as Baldr's motivations. Thus, we come to a greater appreciation for the actors/aggressors that threaten Archemi.Hector's conversation with Vash - towards the book's end - was quite satisfying as well, because it questions the nature of sapience and existence. There's far more to the characters and plot in the book than the cookie-cutter "fight giant monster, save damsel, obtain wealth", which makes them far more intellectually stimulating (and worthy of re-reading).I'd be remiss if I didn't spare some time to talk about the technology & magic. With every book, it seems like there's some new weapon or machine, and they're always so fascinating. The weapon used in Spear of Destiny's final fight reminds me a lot of Command & Conquer 3, fighting against the Scrin. Anyway, it's really cool. Finally, Hector's acceptance of his relationship with Karalti - in all of its aspects - as well as his acknowledgement of his insecurity with regards to male dragons - conveys character growth for both Hector and Karalti. Coming to terms with his polygynous arrangement - a function of the innate bond & different socio-cultural mores - is nice to see, and it allows for greater development of their relationship. Given their feelings for each other & their conflicted feelings about the need for Karalti to procreate, I am interested in seeing how James develops things.

Fire! Absolute Fire!
Great book! This series continue to get better with each addition. Our little Tunn is all grown up. I honestly was expecting a little more class development but i can't complain too much about it since the character development of the entire cast was there in full glory. I was initially mad at the fact the release date was pushed back but after reading the entire book, I felt ashamed for my impatience and thankful for such a masterpiece. I will be sending prayers to you and the fam James for full recovery and no future calamities of any kind to y'all and the entire animal kingdom in your home.

Purrrrfection
When my pre-order notification came in that the book was live I was so happy, but also a bit worried. Would this book be as good? Well no worries there. It's awesome. I got more of the stuff I've been wondering about, the mystery of the system, the creation of Suri and other characters, that sort of thing. It's a delight to be drip fed the meta story through all the fast paced action of the day to day lived experience of Hector and co. Also the Mew folk! Loving getting more time for them in the story. Purrrrfect.

Ten Stars!
After the cliffhanger end of Warsinger, Spear of Destiny was well worth the wait! The story is nail biting, edge of your seat exciting! I loved the growth of Hector and Karalti's relationship. It was handled very sensitively and lovingly. Great new characters im sure we will grow to love. I love Cutthroat's new storyline! What a hoot! All in all, another fantastic book. Can't wait for book 6!

Very enjoyable
Despite typos and incorrect, missing, extra words, I very much enjoy this series. The battles do not go on forever as in many LITrpg books. Warning - If you are intolerant of foul language and sexually related scenes, you will want to skip this book.

Really good series but plot inconsistencies between books bug me
I really like the story but there are lots of plot hole in between books, at the end of the third book he becomes a half blood vampire and the rules say he's immune to mana poisoning and time magic. But then what happens in book 4 right at the beginning someone uses time magic on him and he keeps getting poisoned by mana and since at the end of the third book he can drink his dragons blood why does he still need the blood potion he should just be able to drink the blood!

Cliffhanger. Again.
I really love these books, they are great fun. The story is long and winding, the characters are interesting and the game aspect is really cool, if not always easy to follow. I'm not a fan of cliffhanger endings though. They leave me feeling anxious for days until I manage to absorb myself in another story. With the authors notes at the back, I'd imagine it's going to be a good long wait for the next one.

Great Action
A great load of action packed scenes with plenty of surprises and some great character development moments. Particularly liked the new characters in this one and hope to see a lot more of them in books to come.

Great Book.
Also amazing to hear that the earlier installments are getting some much needed editing. Everything is pretty smooth by Book 5, but the RPG elements were rough in Book 1+2.
