Voodoo and African Traditional Religion

Lilith Dorsey's updated version of her book Voodoo and African traditional religion is a great book for anybody interested in understanding the religion. Lilith is an excellent writer who uses easily to understand language for complex theories and religious practices. The book is a small, but mighty wonder filled with information on what the religion means, where it's come from and where it's going. There are pictures, recipes and definitions. Overall a brilliant read that I highly recommend!

Being from Kansas and the only occult-inclined person in my family, I didn't have a lot of resources when I wanted to start learning about African Traditional Religions. With some trial and error in online and library research, I stumbled upon Lillith Dorsey and was hooked."Voodoo and African Traditional Religion" is a great tool of knowledge for anyone looking to learn. Dorsey provides so much information, personal testimonies, and resources. I greatly appreciate their advice on navigating your way through all stages of your spiritual path."Orishas, Goddesses, and Voodoo Queens" was the first book I read (or listened to) by them and I HIGHLY recommend that too!

This is the second book I’ve read by Lilith Dorsey and I enjoyed it as much as the first! The photographs in the book are lovely and the information Lilith Dorsey shares is priceless. This book is truly a gem.

Great info by author (anthropologist and practitioner). However, she should've went with a different publisher -- So many typos and errors, especially as you get further through it!
