If you have the Barbara Walker tarot deck, this book is an excellent accompaniment because there is a description of each card in the book.However....there is a definite anti-Christian theme in the history of the tarot section and, even though I'm not really a Christian, I am skeptical of anything that carries too much of a bias.As a huge fan of Barbara Walker's treasury of knitting pattern books and an aspiring Tarot student, the book and the card deck are definitely worth it, ultimately.

This is an awesome book. It doesn't really teach a beginner much about how to read tarot, but for someone who wants to dig deeper into the meaning of the tarot and other aspects of the occult, this book has many interesting references. It's got a very feminist view on the symbolism, which I really enjoyed.

Great book, detailed... has elaborate stories of each card. More detailed that the original tiny booklet that came with the deck itself.

Excellent, a wonderful treatise on The Tarot, anything by Barbara WALKER is a literary and visual treat . . . She's honest enough to admit that the origins are Indian viz Tarot ~ Tara or as Robert Svoboda would say 'Shamshan TARA' . . .

I learned a lot on this subject from this book. The history back ground pulls the topic together, and she refers you to other historical books. It's more then just a card game,

Superb colour illustrations are contained within the pages of this excellent book.The origins,the history & the symbolism into the secrets of the tarot are explained in great detail here by an author who i think is certainly one of the best in her class.

I had been looking for tis book for a while so was thrilled to find it.. I have the card deck and wanted the book as a fuller discussion about this particular version of the tarot deck.

A decent explanation of the myths behind the cards. However, if you are looking specifically for a description of the meaning of each card, you will be disappointed.
