Great Poduct
These were just what we were looking for when building our tree house. We bought 4 of these along with the floating mounts. They were easy to mount, using a 1" auger bit and a 3" auger hole saw. Then you just screw them in with a big pipe wrench. EASY!

Note the specifications are misleading - this is a 10 inch perch with only a 5 inch stem
These are well made and should hold up plenty of weight, but I do note an anomaly with the description below. I initially was extremely frustrated with the misleading description but on reflection will concede that if you in fact need 9 usable inches of perch, the description is in fact valid. On installation with their static bracket some of the black coating was removed from this TAB by the scraping of the bracket while the platform was being assembled prior to installation of the knee braces. May need to use a bit of paint to reduce the chance of corrosion.Note on the dimensions: They describe it as 18 inches total with a 9-inch perch and 3-inch collar, which should leave 6 inches for the stem (what screws into the heartwood) but in fact there is only a 5-inch stem. The remaining inch is the 1-inch threaded portion of the perch where the nut attaches, so the perch is in fact 10 inches. I can think of no reason for them to exclude the stem measurement from the listing other than to mislead. My current project is an accessory platform without a structure, in a large oak tree, so a TAB is a bit overkill anyway, otherwise I would return these and purchase from a manufacturer with the deeper stem design. I can make do with these this time, but I will not use these for softer woods.
