A very well written book containing an in-depth narrative on the United Kingdom Royal Mint's production of sovereigns from 1817 to 2021. All denominations from £5 to the quarter sovereign are covered, with details of varieties, mintages (including the branch mints in Australia, Canada, India and South Africa) and estimates of each variety's rarity.All in all the definitive book on the subject and highly recommended, especially if you are (or want to be) a collector of 'the chief coin of the world'.

I have started to collect sovereigns and I wanted a more general overview of the subject. I found this book a good place to start.

If you have any inkling of starting to collect sovereigns then this book is a must have.

A lot better than previous editions. Beautiful pictures, well worth the money.
