1901 2-in-1 Knife and Scissor Sharpener

I bought this knife and scissor sharpener based on the positive reviews its received on Amazon. I had high hopes for it, in that I was confident it would be a much better product than the scissor sharpener I bought from Amazon a few months ago. I'm disappointed to say I was wrong, I found it difficult to use and didn't sharpen my dressmaking scissors at all. Also, bits of the blue plastic casing came away from the area around where I had inserted a pair of scissors and attempted to sharpen them according to the manufacturer's instructions, so all that my efforts had produced was a blunter pair of scissors, because they'd been cutting away at the plastic casing instead of being sharpened by the tungsten carbide rod in the middle of the plastic casing. In my view and experience, a waste of money and not worth the £10.48 for a piece of blue plastic - might have been worth it had the product actually worked.

We have a draw full of knives and various scissors. The Overseer here simply buys more when they become dull. Therefore I purchased this sharpener based mainly on the reviews then price. Amazing, so simple, so easy. So much so we now have lots of knives and scissors than are very sharp. The Lakeland breadknife which was expensive was replaced due to it being blunt. Three pulls through the sharpener, then I cut a tomato in half. Perfect.

Easy to use gadget, sharpens knives easily. Scissors are a little more tricky untilyou get used to the amount of pressure required to apply. However, typical kitchen scissors with a "shaped" blade on one side, cannot readily be sharpened with this sharpener.

Saw this being demonstrated on QVC and checked on Amazon where they were for sale at over 50% cheaper. Works better on my Global kitchen knives than the Global badged ceramic Water Sharpener. Sharpened all my kitchen scissors. Keep the instructions to hand as I always forget how to position the blades on the sharpener. Highly recommended.

Very good knife and scissors sharpner! My knife becomes very sharp sometimes I feel like Iam slicing soft butter while I use sharp knife for cutting vegetables, fish , chicken or meat!!
