Inexpensive and works great!
I've only tried these once, for a green tomato & pepper ferment, but so far it seems to do exactly what it's advertised to do. It was a whole lot easier to use than trying to fit a small canning jar or a bag filled with brine and it's a whole lot cheaper than the glass weights that I know I would end up dropping and breaking. If you are fermenting something that is very small, or that has smallish spices like peppercorns or mustard seeds, you might still have a problem keeping those submerged unless you use a spice bag but for most everything else these should work great.

Great with one modification
These guys are definitely cheaper than the glass rocks and better than bags of water stuffed in the mason jars. They most definitely fit in the wide mouth mason jars and will not fall down into them. That being said I see one fault with them and its easily modified. I didn't like how the brine levels held with these or that some air/gasses could stay under the center. So, I drilled a 1/4 hole in the center and the brine/air/gasses moved out even more efficiently... and if you needed to top off brine after you put this cup in you just poured it in and not have to remove the insert. In short Yeah I like these...just made a small mod to suit my preference. YMMV.

Makes fermenting easy
These are great. Lightweight, stackable, dishwasher safe, cost way less than glass, and...they work! I still use a glass weight in my ferments when I have the occasional half jar of something. The CUPS work for full jars because the downward pressure of the jar lid onto the cup presses the food down under the liquid. Using these cups together with silicone pipes has made me one happy and successful new fermenter. PS instead of a full cabbage leaf wadded up, I use just a piece large enough to cover the food before adding the cup.

Cheap looking material and too narrow.
The cups look very cheap made and useless since they are to narrow or skinny for wide mouth mason uses . I was disappointed that i miss the window to return it.

Solid product. Creepy packaging.
So the actual product seems really solid. It includes some nice instructions on how to use it, with specific notes about how the fermentation process can be varied when using these cups instead of glass fermentation weights. The design of the product seems great, with a lot of consideration into practical aspects of using it.As far as fit and finish goes, they fit wonderfully into my Ball branded jars, but are a smidge tight in some other jars that I have lying around that are generally compatible with small mouth mason jar products. The only odd part is the inclusion of creepy religious propaganda along with the weights. It's almost as bad as finding a Chick Tract in with your order. Eating home made sauerkraut won't heal your cancer, and it seems unlikely that it will attract gods to heal it for you. I feel that doctors and other medical professionals should be involved if you have cancer.Still, the product seems pretty solid. And home made sauerkraut is really tasty. Just, you know, not a cure for cancer.

Fit well; work well
I am trying these out in several batches of fermented vegetables. They fit the wide mouth mason jars I am using well and keep the vegetables under the brine. I got these hoping they would be easy to remove when necessary and find that they do come out easily. Good product. I recommend these weights to people fermenting in mason jars.

You probably need these
FYI - these arrived several days quicker than was estimated by Amazon, which was a nice surprise. These jar toppers are exactly as described and will be a most useful aide to my fermentation efforts moving forward.Note:the seller includes a page religious material with these weights; because some buyers have apparently been miffed at receiving this stuff, at time of purchase you can request they not be included. Didn't bother me but YMMV.

Highly Recommend This Product
These work perfectly to keep your ferments submerged and free from mold. Although I haven't tried glass weights which are also used for this purpose, I think the glass would be slightly more difficult to get out of your jars plus take up more space when storing.
