Q: how do you use this shave cream. Do I whip it up with water in a bowl? Do I apply it to my face dry or should my face be wet?

Definitely in a bowl. You add water to thin it out to your desired consistency. However it's hard to take water back out, so only add a little at a time. I find that it's best to shave after a shower, then the hot water and steam will have softened up your beard. Q: How many shave do you estimate from a container?

It's difficult to say for certsin, but I shave every day and based on how much remains in my jar I would estimate it will last between 6 and 9 months. It only takes about a nickel-sized dollop to get the job done. I believe these high quality creams will wind up being cheaper than the cans of chemical goop you buy at the grocery store.

Q: Can I use the shave cream from the container, or is it better to use a separate bowl or cup?

I wouldn't recommend creating a lather in the container. I take about a TSP and a damp brush and mix it up in a bowl or put about a TSP in the middle of a damp brush and do a face lather. I prefer the face lather with this creme. It takes a couple times to get the perfect cream to water ratio for a rich lather. It's an old school type cream so don't get discouraged if it doesn't seem perfect your first time. Once you dial it in, you will LOVE this stuff!!!!
