I love the design and quality of this swivel chair. Once built they are very sturdy and elegant. At the time I purchased these chairs I was under the impression that there were 2 in the set, but the price was for 1 chair only :( I complained to Amazon and they have since changed the description. The chairs were easy to put together. My husband took that project on so I can't say too much about it except he got it done and it took him about an hour to put each chair together. I was very concerned about the black "leather" vinyl covering but I am pleased to report that it appears very thick and sturdy, it looks great and doesn't feel cheap. Something to note... I have noticed the wood stain does scratch fairly easily. I already have a couple of small nicks from when the chairs have accidentally bumped into each other (such as moving them when I am sweeping) nothing that furniture markers can't easily touch up, but considering how little use they get and how careful I am with them I was surprised. I don't have small children living in my home (just the occasional young guests) but if I did I would probably be a little more concerned... but then again I guess that goes for most wood furniture right? On a side note - for manufacturer if they read reviews... I wish they had arm rests to make it safer for children. This swivel chair is great for older kids and adults but when I have my young nieces and nephews over I am very hesitant to let them sit on them, a swivel chair + young children can easily = disaster. I give 5 stars because they serve MY purpose and I love the look and feel of them. I have had these for a couple of months now and I am happy with them. *UPDATE* It's been over a year and half since I bought these and they are holding up great. No tears in the seats and nothing broken! My only new tip is to make sure you are ordering the right size. I purchased in 29 and I should have purchased 24. These are way too high for my kitchen counter (standard size). The seat sits a couple of inches from the bottom edge of the counter which means when you sit it on it you are WAY higher than the counter. Great for little kids but not great when an adult is sitting on it :( Lesson learned.

After moving into a new house with a kitchen counter, my family needed bar height stools with rotating seats. These stools come unassembled, with just enough hardware and an allen wrench to put them together. Assembly took me about about 60 to 90 minutes per stool. The metal hardware is robust, and the wood is actual hardwood rather than crummy particle board.Once built, most of the stool seems rock solid, but sitting on the stool there is a definite give in the screws holding the chair to the rotation hardware. Even my 5 year old noticed a bit of wobble. I think I could try tightening the bolts more, but I don't want to crack the wood by over tightening. The wobble isn't too bad, and the chairs have held up for the two months we've had them. Otherwise, the look, construction and comfort are top notch. I'll evaluate over time and post an update if they collapse!

These are nice looking chairs, but they don't feel as though they will last very long. The worst part is that the seats are so small that I don't feel comfortable at all. I feel a need to keep one foot on the floor, which defeats the purpose. I don't use the often, so they will do for now, but I see a time when they will be replaced for something bigger and sturdier.

I really like this sturdy chair, everything about it except the description states “cherry” and it is a very dark brown maybe a reddish dark brown. It’s okay but would have been so much better had it been a true cherry as we bought these chairs to go with another cherry item in my kitchen. We will keep them as it would really be a hassle to send them back. Hopefully when my new countertop is installed they will look better.

Used for 2 months. Normal daily wear. Leg broke. Felt sturdy enough. Guess not. Beyond return window, Amazon is no help and manufacturer is nowhere to be found. Great for decoration, but stay away if they are going to be used with any regularity.

Sturdy and easy to assemble

Very easy to assemble. Reasonably sturdy, back feels loose but it is not.

Well built and look great at our kitchen bar. The 24" height is perfect for our countertop level seating. Wide seat is very comfortable.
