Manhasset1320 Trumpet Mute/Cup Holder Music Stand Accessory

This is a very inexpensive item that serves a useful purpose if you need to make fast insertion and removal of small mutes. Ideal for straight mutes, it will work for some cup mutes. It can even hold a water glass.Adjustment to fit the lip of the stand is the main shortcoming. It has a tight fit and wide fit option, and the typical black music stand is right in the middle, meaning, if you can't slide it down to a slightly curved end of the lip, it may come off the stand with the mute in it, rather than the mute come out. It is also possible that your mute will stick up enough to block part of the bottom line of your music. A bit picky, and you get used to and adjust to the shortcomings.A good item for amatures who don't want to spend a lot, but if you have more than one mute, a multi-mute holder that mounts on the stand post might be better, though that is a longer reach for a quick insertion.

I allways had problems with my mutes when playing, specially in works where there is little chance to take the mute off and continue playing, so this is very helpfull. It also attaches well to other music stands, not only Manhasset. i even tried it with a cheap foldable aluminum music stand and it worked well enough. Also, it is not only usefull as a mute holder. An oboist from the orchestra I play at tried it as a suporrt for his instrument (he has a problem on his left hand thumb, so this helps him relieves the weight on the thumb) and has been usefull so far. For using it as a cup or glass holder, I would not recommend it, unless it fits tight enough and the cup/glass isn't to full or weighs to much.

I use it on an accessories tray that pushes on my stand and it works perfectly.

Light, attached easily, works perfectly the way it should. It has quite a small diameter so the corks on the mute tend to catch when you pull it out - you just have to be aware of that. But apart from that, very useful.

You just don't want to set your trumpet mute on the floor...bending over to reach for it, maybe dropping it. This clips on the edge of the music stand, and the mute is a comfortable reach away. You won't drop it unless you're a complete clutz.

Works well. Can be a little tricky to hook up to the stand but once getting the hang of it, it has worked fine for me. I use two of them.

Too flimsy

It held my digital , Yamaha trumpet Mute or amp very well and was quite handy for keeping the mute and wires within the confinds of the stand for easy access without unhooking all the yamaha components

It does the job but the clip doesn't stay on the stand. It that respect, very disappointing.
