Spoon Rest Banana Ceramic Handmade ~ 7 inches wide by 4 inches tall. ~ Handmade with details in the painterly style of watercolor in yellow with cobalt blue outline details ~ The construction process: Red earthenware terra-cotta clay is rolled out into a slab then hand cut with a needle tool from the slab into shape, then it is smoothed with a damp sponge, dried and bisque fired in Momma kiln. ~ The decorative Majolica glaze process: The piece is dipped into a special white glaze, covering the red color of the clay on the front, wax is placed on the back of the piece. When the white glaze is dried, using a watercolor brush and special stains and oxide colors mixed with water to create the detailed designs and textures of the piece, and signed on the back.
