Beautiful little cup. The finish is really pretty and the quality is great. We have his and hers, this one and a red one. the bombillla (straw) is easy to clean. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that the ceramic conducts heat really well and can be to hot to hold. A traditional plant gourd is naturally insulated and protects your hands a little. Solution, let your Mate cool enough to hold the ceramic gourd and then if it doesn't burn your hand it won't burn your mouth either.

Amazing cup, not only is it very aesthetically pleasing (the pictures on amazon don't do it justice), but the functionality is great. The notch keeps the bombilla in place perfectly. The mug does get a bit hot to the touch but I actually like that aspect because I know that when it becomes comfortable to hold then it is a perfect temp to drink. I've owned many gourds and have been drinking matè on a consistent basis for the last 5 years and this is by far the best I've owned. Natural gourds are nice for the classic feel but this is much more hygienic and convenient for the every day user.Oh and I almost forgot, It's made in the USA!

What an outstanding product. Since i work tax season i had little time to prepare my yerba mate so this gourd came in handy and saved the day more than once. Got a few more for some co-workers and my boss. We all have a different style. Clients are quick to notice the unique design and complement it every time. Looking to order another for friends birthday and would highly recommend to new yerba mate drinkers. Warning, the sides can get a little hot. But a paper towel around it or just grab it from the bottom and you are golden. Thanks!

I do really like this gourd. The other's I have aren't as easy to clean or tip over easy, which isn't a problem for this one.I took one star off because the gourd does get hot. I know the description/faq says if your mate is that hot the gourd is hot your doing it wrong.... But I still wish it didn't get so hot so easily. I would not use this with children.

I love everything about this product. The mate is beautiful, its functionality is excellent. The only complaint I can think of, and I’m being unreasonable, it that the width of the mate makes it ill-suited to drinking chimarrao, because the water can’t penetrate through that much mate, and you end up having to turn it a couple times per go.On the whole, a truly wonderful product.

I'm writing this as I drink some toasted mate. The pictures really don't do it any justice. The glaze is much more vibrant and it just looks fabulous. Very high quality unique and most important, handmade in the US! The straw is also very nice and easy to clean.

Have had this gourd for a while now and it is amazing. I use it every day for my mate and can't imagine drinking it in anything else.

Beautiful addition to my collection. Love the craftsmanship on this gourd... just wish they had some done in a charcoal/light grey/ dark grey color scheme. Better get you one tho!
