PLEASE NOTE: There are many sizes of watercolor paint boxes and pans produced by many manufacturers. "Half size" is a generic term and we cannot guarantee that our pans will fit into the tins of other manufacturers. These watercolor paint pans can be used to create your own custom paint palette. Made of white plastic, they measure approximately 18 mm x 15 mm x 8 mm. If you want to create a small traveling watercolor kit you can fit as many as 16 pans in a large Altoids tin and 5 pans in a small Altoids tin. Purchase does not include the Altoid tins. They are an example of how the pans can be used.

Perfect for making a travel paint box from an "Altoids" type metal box!
Perfect - exactly what I needed to expand my mini watercolor paint box. I use M Graham tubes of watercolor and wanted to make a small travel paint box out of a small metal box. I glued magnetic tape to the bottom of each half-pan, filled in my paint, let them settle and dry out a bit. Then I popped them into my tin. I am able to fit 10 half-pans in two rows, leaving a space for a small water brush in the middle (or I could add another row of paints.) Edited to add: I just bought another set of these; they work very well with the magnetic tape on the bottom. I have a couple of small tins now with different color selections. I vary which set I take with me when I am out and about. Using the magnets on the bottom of the pans makes it easy to swap around the color selections if desired.

they're just perfect. They are not rubbery or anything and they ...
Seems weird rating little plastic watercolor pans, but they are just right and just as depicted so yeah...they're just perfect. They are not rubbery or anything and they are just great sturdy little pans. I stuck them down to the tin box with a removable thin glue dot and they are now being used daily for my watercolor exercises.

Lightweight, thank goodness!
These half pans and the container they go in are light enough to use for a long time without tiring. My fingers & wrists are ridiculously weak, so this is especially important to me! The seller is wonderful, prompt in her responses to questions as well as making the buyer feel important to her. (Not many sellers take the time and energy to do that!) I think you'll be pleased with this seller, as I am.

Great half pans for decent price
Very nice paint pans! 5 fit easily into the small altoids tin and obviously many more in the larger one. They angle a bit from bottom to top, but it's not too severe so they sit nicely together. I can fit all 20 into the center portion of my GraceArt 18 half pan travel set so these work great for me :) and a decent price.

These are the perfect size for my watercolor set
These are the perfect size for my watercolor set. I was able to put some watercolor cakes that did not have pans (from a different set) into them and they fit perfectly. Very pleased, will purchase again.

Perfect
I glued magnets to the bottoms and am using them in an altoid tin for a travel water color set. they are thinner then some others but that is why they are so light weight and the price was right. they work just fine for me.

Great half pans
I have ordered these three times. One time they were missing because Amazon had them packed into a box with a computer accessory, but I was able to find them after rooting through my trash (reminding me to always check packaging). They are super easy to fill and they fit nicely into my paint box so I can change my palette before leaving the house. It is also easy to write on the sides with a Sharpie, so I can track the color and the maker. I look forward to ordering more in the future!!!
