It's also resistant to natural decomposition and insects. African teak has a natural protective oil within its grain, and it's a stable wood that keeps its shape after being "worked." Over time, African teak turns from a creamy yellow to a chocolate brown. It can be left to weather naturally, or may be periodically treated with teak oil to preserve the natural color and moisture.
