Best spray for glossy media if you have a safe spraying location.
This is a superb coating for glossy papers. It significantly improves the color and contrast of the image, while removing any hint of bronzing and hazing. ICC profiles created from targets coated with this spray exhibit slightly more color gamut than the base paper, and usually lower the d-max about 1 point and sometimes raise the highlights 1 or 2 points. In most cases the original textural character of the paper is preserved, with a very slight increase in glossiness. On glossy media three quick coats provides a level of mechanical protection that is approximately equal to a well coated canvas sprayed with water based sprays. The results are less spectacular with matte papers. Even after several coats matte media still exhibits a tendency toward scuffing from mild abrasion during handling such as from shuffling prints. Unfortunately, the d-max of matte paper is slightly raised by this spray, through a very slight hazy sheen introduced over dark areas. This is a solvent based paint that has serious safety issues. A well ventilated outdoor area is the minimum safe location for use provided one works with his back toward the wind. The fumes can be overwhelming if sprayed indoors or in an area with poor ventilation to the point of rendering one seriously ill and intoxicated with a smashing headache. The best spraying situation would be with a proper spray booth. In any location it is imperative to wear a mask with at minimum a pair of 3M #6001 organic filters. For frequent use one would want a ventilated hood fed through a hose from a remote ventilator or air turbine. Ordinary dust masks are in no way adequate. This is a very thin liquid with a viscosity less than water. It can only be sprayed; it is far too thin and fast drying for brush or roller application. If you plan to use this material only for occasional prints up to about 20x30 inches, it would be best to purchase the 400ml spray cans.

Premier Shield is specific for inkjet printers. It is the best product for the purpose of protecting your printing available.
This is s a specialized product for inkjet printers which provides UV protection, scuff and water resistance in a clear coat that is easily applied with a small lacquer compressed air sprayer. Though apparently expensive, cost is about 10 cents per square foot when applied. Three coats can be made within about five minutes, providing excellent protection while not affecting contrast, brilliance or color. It can be used with water or solvent printing. All of my products have this coat. There is nothing else comparable on the market, especially as this is formulated for inkjet printers.
