Lasted a month
Great concept while it worked; however, the leash has a serious design flaw in how it is charged. The battery appears contained within a plastic housing, but has a wire dangling out of the housing with the female adapter (with only heat shrink wrap for strain relief) to connect to the charging adapter. We had the adapter break off after half a dozen uses at most. Now we have an expensive lighted leash that will not light. Granted it still functions as a leash, but you can buy a plain leash for far less cost.A well designed unit would have incorporated the female adapter into the battery housing, which would provide rigidity for the adapter during regular use. Have attached a picture of the still good (at present) collar and the damaged leash.Went to the Illumiseen website and their homepage indicates they provide a lifetime warranty. If you click on the Returns & Warranty or Contact Us sections the website went into an endless loop. I tried the website from both an IE and Chrome browser, but experienced the same looping on each browser. Am stuck with a nonworking, nonreturnable leash.Buyer beware. This is a great idea, but poorly implemented. If you buy it, don't expect it to last.

Another faulty LED leash
This is my third LED leash from various suppliers to try. I thought maybe spending a little more money on something that looked a bit more high quality would lead to a longer lasting product. Nope! This product lasted as long as the first charge (the one it arrived with). When it needed to be recharged, only the top half would recharge, and the bottom half no longer lights up. I tried multiple combinations of chargers (it comes with two) to eliminate user-error as the cause for the faultiness. This is so typical of these cheap leashes and I wish someone could point me in the direction of one that will last. Don't waste your money!

Four Design Flaws Noticed
I was drawn to this product because it came in several colors. Certain colors are more noticeable at night, so I wanted to try out a couple different ones. The company's Amazon site was somewhat flawed, as several times, I selected a color and tried to add it to my cart. However when I checked my cart, the wrong color was there. In fact, when I received the order, there were two yellow leashes, while I thought I had ordered a yellow and a blue. It was as if there was a preferred default built into the site. It may have been a fluke, but it was annoying, and I had to do a return.Compared to another lighted leash I purchased elsewhere, I counted 4 design flaws on this Illumiseen leash.1) The handle's fabric is very stiff with no padding. My preferred leash has the same shape handle, but it is not as stiff and the handle is padded with a soft material. (see photo # 3)2) The charger is a problem. The leash has an older style round female end tucked behind the rechargeable battery pack. When I tried to disconnect after charging, that female end pulled out and was very hard to push back in. While it was out, it was more susceptible to physical and water damage. Even pushed back in, it would be easy for water to work its way into the charging hole while on a walk in the rain. The other end of the charger was a USB connector. That means if you don't have a computer or other USB port available easily, you'll have to buy some other adapter to recharge the leash. (see photos # 1 & 2)3) While the leash is charging the only way you know it is actually charging is to darken the area and see a faint glow. I consider that a design flaw. I'd rather have an indicator light the glowed one color to indicate it needed charging when you plugged it in and another when the leash became fully charged. I have the latter on my preferred leash.4) The Illumiseen leash lights only on one side. The other side not only has no illumination, but also has no reflective stitching or tape that might allow some lighting at night if you used a headlamp as I do when I walk my two black pugs at night. (see photos # 4 and 5)My other leash has illumination on both sides, and even one illuminated side has reflective stitching. The charger is a micro usb on the leash, cover with a plastic cover that is seated well over the area, giving better protection from the elements. When you need to charge the leash, that plastic cover swivels out, but is also fastened to the leash. Thus, when charging is done, you can easily swivel it back over the micro opening to protect it. However, it also has a USB connector. I'd rather have an AC plug. Compared to the Illumiseen my other leash has sturdier material, which is also more flexible, and, as I mentioned above, a padded handle. When I charge this leash, it has a small round light that turns red when you first plug it in, indicating that it needs charging. Once fully charged the small light turns yellow. The pricing of the Illumiseen leash vs the other one is comparable, but my preferred leash is much better constructed. The only advantage the Illumiseen has is that it offers multiple colors, while my preferred leash only comes in red and green.Note: Attached photos #1 and 2 show the different recharge ports on each leash.(Yellow leash is Illuminseen). #3 shows the padded vs Illumiseen unpadded handle. #4 compares the non illuminated Illuminated side with the illuminated side of the other (both sides on the green leash light up) with reflective stitching. #5 The one illuminated side on the yellow leash and other illuminated side of the green leash. You can also see the difference in the quality of the materials used in each leash. Both leashes offer three types of illumination by clicking the light switch each time you want a different one.In summary, because I have small black pugs that are not easily seen at night, I need both an illuminated leash and some sort of collar that also lights up and flashes. While the Illumiseen does ok as a leash, I do NOT like that one side doesn't light up, nor does it have any sort of reflective tape or stitching. I also find it uncomfortable to hold (I usually use the yellow leash on one pug and the green one on the other) while walking the two simultaneously. I would suggest that they improve these features, since the cost of both these leashes is the same.

Bright Light - One section of lights went bad very quickly. Not double sided.
When I received this it worked great and was nice and bright. I do wish it was lighted on both sides since it wants to twist one direction and often not the direction of oncoming traffic. I did receive a lot of questions from others on where to find this and I said check out Amazon...The bad - after a little less than 2 months the bottom section went out, there are two sections of lights. So far the top section still lights fine and I've had this for 5 months, although I wish both the top and bottom would light. Also when I buy another I'm going to look for one that will show light on both the front and the back. I'm using this for safety and I don't want to have to keep twisting/holding this just the right way.**EDIT -If I left this review I was contacted by the company without any prompts. They reached out to let me know they were sorry about my experience with the product. They also sent a refund for the full purchase price! I left this review because like others in a sea of so many products, finding something nice is getting harder. So I'm going to have to raise my review rating another star. Having awesome customer service makes me wonder if I received a fluke and should try this one again.

A better design would sell more.
I cant fault the brightness of this lead. Similar construction to the collars by Illumiseen. I can't give it 5 stars because I believe Illumiseen could have done better with the design. The 6ft lead (the one I bought) is simply 2 3ft leads stitched together, each with its own battery pack. The lead could have comprised of a clip attachment to enable you to remove one of the 3ft sections and use it as a 3ft lead. In other words sell a 3ft lead an an extension piece. Simplifies manufacturing and provides an extra product to sell (i.e. extension piece).A second design flaw is that the 2 led elements run on one side of the lead meaning that one side is ultra bright, the other barely lit due to the nylon material obstructing the light. While this design is OK for a collar, the lead is only seen on one side. The lead would be better with an led element down each side of the lead. The lead is well made and very bright. The leds remain bright for much longer than I've needed - probably over 2 hours without any reduction in brightness. Charging is relatively quick, less than an hour and uses bespoke charging leads, a usb plug at on end and a round pin arrangement at the other so don't lose the charging lead!. I've bought 2 collars and the 6ft lead so i have 4 charging cables in total, even though i only use 2. i charge the collars, then the lead.In hindsight, I should have bought the shorter lead.

Disappointed about this product?....
I bought this product for my two labradors on March 6, 2019. In the beginning, I was super happy with it, but barely a month later the lighting no longer worked. Of course I thought it was a great pity. I will never complain or complain so quickly and that is why I kept the product. but now less than 3 months after purchase, one of the belts is already broken and the other will most likely also be completely broken soon. I have to admit I walk every day with my two labradors, that is why I was looking for a good product. But unfortunately this product I've received was not goed at all .... I think it is very unfortunate. : - (((Nevertheless ... I have upgraded my one star that I placed earlier to 5 stars. After the Illumisent company saw my previous review ... the company sent me new leashes. for this alone, they deserve all my respect and appreciation ... in my opinion a company that does not believe in its own product will never do this ... this also testifies, for their part, how important it is for them, the satisfaction of their customers ... I hope this time the leashes can last for a longer time, because I really like this product ... the light is very visible at night and the lenght is perfect ...not too long and not too small ... Thank you very much Illumisent !! :-)))

Lasted just under a year
We're a big fan of LED dog leads as we live in a semi rural location with minimal lighting. However, I have yet to find a light up lead which lasts any significant length of time. We purchased a green LED lead in October 2017, and it had daily use throughout winter 2017, and into the early months of 2018. However, it was then not needed until September 2018. We gave it a good long charge before taking it out for the first darker evening walk of autumn, only to find we'd barely got to the end of the road before it had given up completely. You could almost see its lights fading as we walked. We charged it up again overnight, and it failed again before we got to the end of the road. We did the same again the next night, and the same thing happened. At that point we reluctantly decided it was no good - the battery had failed and wasn't holding a charge at all. Amazon were excellent, and refunded us the cost of the lead after we explained what had happened. We've now purchased a Blazin' Bisons LED lead, which will hopefully last a bit longer. When it worked, it was excellent. The reflective strips alongside the LED bulbs are very clear, unlike a lot of cheap reflective stitching which you commonly get on these LED leads. The bulbs were bright, and drivers and other pedestrians could easily see the dog. It's just unfortunate that the rechargeable battery didn't last for us.

Good product but beware rogue sellers.
I bought two leads and two collars and have so far been very happy with them. They are highly visible in the dark, good colours, robust but comfortable to use and for the use I give them I have not had to recharge them more than once a week. I do have a word of warning though.....do make sure that the sellers are Illumiseen. One of the collars arrived from another seller and was a cheap piece of tat that didn't even look like the Illumiseen collar, the identity of the supplier was in miniscule letters on the envelope with no enclosure and when I Googled the seller it was a company that made no mention of dog supplies. Had I not already known the appearance and presentation of Illumiseen collars I would have been cheated into keeping it. They did howeve refund the money when I complained.

Excellent, Bright Dog Lead!
We have a beautiful Cocopoo Puppy (well he doesn't look like a puppy anymore), and I often take him for a walk late at night and early hours of the morning, so this LED Lead was ideal for me as it means that other people can see us walking from a distance. There are six different colours available, including Blue, Green Red, Orange, Pink and Yellow. I choose mine in Blue and it looks really stylish and cool. The lead arrived very well packaged in a clear resealable bag, so I can easily store the lead back in the bag when not in use. Included with your purchase is the lead itself, a USB charging cable and a very useful instruction manual. The LED lead is very bright, so anyone from a distance could easily see us whilst walking at the night. Its very easy to attach to your dog collar, and it feels very secure attached to my dogs collar. Its very easy to use and should give 10 hours of illumination per 1-hour charge, which is really good. I'm very happy with this dog lead and could highly recommend this dog lead to anyone.(I was kindly sent this lead by the seller in the exchange for an honest and unbiased review. The opinion expressed here is entirely my own view of this lead.)
