- This multi purpose canister filter system comes with a 25 micron, 40 sq ft filter cartridge and a 50 sq. ft. polystrand bio-core for biological filtration in the center. The 25 micron polyester filter cartridge filters the water and the bio-core provides a wetted surface area for nitrifying bacteria to eliminate toxic ammonia
