PurCool Green strips and tablets prevent sludge build-up in air conditioning and refrigeration condensate drain pans. They utilize unique, plant-based suspending and dispersing action to prevent build-ups, overflows, and odors in drain pans. When placed in the drain pan, PurCool Green will slowly dissolve in the condensate water, providing preventative treatment for 4-6 months.

Misleading advertising
The advertising says: "PurCool Green does not contain any harsh chemicals or biocides, making them safer for the user and the environment."However, when I read the warning labels on this it says to read the SDS (Safety Data Sheet). Being curious I went to the manufacturer's website to read it before opening and handling it. Red flag #1 - They claim the item is a trade secret and will not disclose anything about it's chemical composition. Red flag #2 - The SDS shows that their claims of being safe have never been tested. That's right, they literally don't know if it's safe to touch or smell their own product. See the attached screen shot and go look it up on their website. So the claim to being "safer for the user and the environment" is just a flat out lie to get you to give them your money. This stuff could be pure cancer, stay away.

Works great on Fujitsu mini split
Works great on Fujitsu mini split ! These Fujitsu units are not user friendly to clean and keeps the pan from clogging and dripping out from the indoor unit onto what ever is under it - furniture etc. Other manufacturers of mini splits make them easier to maintain and keep clean. Found these strips have solved that problem of slime clogged drains. Been using these for 2 years and they work perfect! Highly recommend.

Works, no odor
I'm using it in an 8000 btu window air conditioner, and it works well. No chemical odor when in use, and it prevents the development of damp mildew/algae odors. Unlike drain tablets, it doesn't turn into a powder either...which is preferable.Since my window AC is so small, I used scissors to cut some fairly thin strips of the purcool, and I think the product will last me a year or two depending on how long it takes to dissolve. I'm impressed!

4-6 months? Nope.
It had dissolved completely in about 2 months. Going to something else.
