I just purchased my fourth Mohawk rug pad from Amazon -- three were thicker 5x8 pads for area rugs and one was a thinner 2x8 pad to use under a rug just inside my back door. I've found them to be easy to use. They trim easily to size with a pair of sharp scissors. Two of the thicker ones are in the coldest room in our house where the floor is on a slab rather than with a basement underneath so the floor tends to be chilly on sock feet in the winter. The combination of the area rugs and thick pads make a big difference. These two pads and the one in the kitchen are on laminate flooring and I wanted to be sure the pad I chose wouldn't hurt the flooring. So far, these have been great. No problems and the rugs all stay put. Very pleased.

I have just revised my original 1-star review (below) all the way up to a 5-star review!Although Amazon’s 30-day return window had closed, I decided to call Mohawk directly to report the awful smell. The very helpful claims rep I spoke with apologized and said the smell was a known issue which has since been fixed. She asked me to send her a copy of my Amazon order info, and she is sending me a free replacement shipment of three new pads with no smell.I take back what I said about Mohawk. They admitted the problem existed, fixed it, and are sending me a free replacement order. I have a new found respect for Mohawk and their very professional and helpful employees.And these pads are awesome.(Old review below:)I bought these three additional rug pads after first trying one under an area rug on my wood floor, and being satisfied with it’s ability to keep the rug pretty much in place in a high traffic area—even with two dogs running over it regularly.But when these pads arrived, they had a peculiar odor that I had not noticed with the first one. Assuming the odor would gradually subside after the pads were laid out and in use for a while, I put them down under the remaining area rugs. It has been 2 months now, and the pads still smell, and the odor is sickening. The Amazon window for returning them has closed, and I am out the money I have wasted on them. I had trusted that with a brand name like Mohawk, I was purchasing a quality product. But a one-month guarantee on something like this is not long enough to realize that you’ve been sold a defective product.This is the last Mohawk product of any kind for me.

If you get this pad you will need to open the package and unfold the pad and let it lay flat for 24 to 48 hours or roll the pad tight on a 4 inch pole to get the folds from shipping out of it for 24 hours. It is a nice pad after you get the folds out of it. It is more work but it is worth it for a flat pad.

Holds runner rug in place well. Australian Sheppard cant use the the runner rug as a sled to run and jump on to slide on any more in the hallway. We cut it to the runner size. All folds from shipping smoothed out. Can now move rug to clean around and under. Happy with the product....wish I had found it earlier before sticky adhesive tape options were tried

We just bout some machine washable rugs to line our hallway for three very senior dogs with bladder problems. We had sticky carpet tiles but when washed they shrunk and deformed and I hated the way they looked. I bought this to cut to size and keep the rugs from slipping. #1- THEY WORK. When I washed it and had the rug down by itself that thing was slipping with even the slightest touch. With this liner under it it does NOT budge, from my family of 4, to our 65 lbs dogs coming off the staircase at full speed, and toddler speeding around with rolling toys, it doesn’t move. #2- I didn’t notice any issues with washing. I washed on cold, I let it air dry, I put it back down. No issues at all. The dogs peed on the rugs and it seeped through but the smell and stain came out of the liner as well as the rug in one wash. I will be buying more as we switch out more areas of the house. Great purchase for the price. Highly recommend.

This is the worst product that I have ever purchased from Amazon! I originally intended to use this product for shelf liners and for that purpose it was great, soft, easy to trim to size and worked well. But OMG the off gassing//odor was overwhelming!!! My whole house smelled like vomit!! not to mention my kitchen cabinets!!! I even tried airing them out for weeks!! yes weeks!! in my backyard, before writing this review and they still smell!!!! I finally had to put them in a bag and throw them in the trash. What a waste of time and money!!!

This rug pad is thick enough to give some cushion under the rug, protects the flooring (wood flooring) and holds the rug in place with no slipping at all. It provides safety and protects the floor.

I have bought these Mohawk rug pads before and they are great. They stay in place well and add padding. For some reason this one just stinks and I can get the smell out! I've had it in the garage and outdoors when its nice out but so far it still had a odd smell. Otherwise it's a nice rug pad.

This is the fourth MOHAWK carpet pad we have ordered in our home. They all have a non-slip rubber backer, and a composite pad, which performs well. These are a little on the pricey side, compared to the competing brands, however you get what you pay for. Excellent product!!

Mohawk DR010 999 048072 EC Low Profile Pad Area Rug 4'x6' GrayThese are working well under fairly stiff rugs. The low profile keeps trip hazards to a minimum. Don't count on scissors to trim - you'll need a carpet knife or heavy exacto/utility blade, keeping a piece of wood underneath to protect the floor. Happy with the purchase.

Bought this for a rug in my son’s room because our 80lbs dog jumps off his bed and on the rug and his momentum kept moving the rug. Now with this under the rug it stays put! Doesn’t create any bulk
