A Tradition continues
Neil Simon aways made me laugh, and his plays in this volume are a new and refreshing voice to the New York he knows and loves. They are more personal, more touching but still have laughs and are delightful. I definitely recommend this to anyone who has ever liked even one of his classics, "The Odd Couple", "Star Spangles Gierl" , "Barefoot in the Park" etc. and if you've never heard of him or seen or read his plays, this is a geat way to start.

Good variety of plays.
I belong to a group who gets together once a month to read scripts. We don't necessarily read these with a view to performing or directing them anywhere, we just like to read them. Two of the plays in here are wonderful. "Laughter on the 23rd Floor" is so funny. I found "Lost in Yonkers" very touching. The rest are kind of standard Neil Simon comedies. However, I do recommend that everyone who gets this book should read Neil Simon's introduction--it's great!

A great collection from a great playwright.
As a speech and debate coach, I'm always looking for pieces for my competitors to perform at tournament. Neil Simon has always been one of my personal favorite authors, because he does such an amazing job of meshing comic gold with poignant social commentary. The fourth volume of his collected works has some great material that takes very little effort to adapt to whatever presentational format you might need.

Simon plays never fail to entertain and surprise!
Writers use words to imprint an image on the readers mind and no one does that better than Neil Simon. He is a truly gifted playwright... his dialogue and characters are real... his stories honest... the audience can't help but feel he is spying on their lives. This collection contained plays I had never read and provided many hours of pleasurable reading and food for thought.
