Northern Kentucky Cedar DSSWK0612 Aromatic Red Cedar 6 ft. Deluxe Solid Wall Kit

We are remodeling our closets. We removed the old wire-type organizer because the rubber coating is melting. After searching through many possible alternatives, including Closetmaid, Ikea, and John Holmes (the first two are made out of low quality particle board with vinyl coating. Holmes is made out of cheap looking thin strips of wood. The price of these are not cheap), I encountered the cedar closet organizers at Costco online. It was out of stock and was about twice the price as the Northern Kentucky kit (although it is 14 inches deep). I was very please that I finally found Northern Kentucky Cedar closet kit. This is made out of real solid wood from a tree with a distinctive aroma that is naturally insect repellant (no need to buy moth balls). The kit came pre-cut and pre-drilled. The groove design to fit the brackets and screws is brilliant. The cut on the bottom of the panel to fit the base board is wonderful. The construction is straight forward and the instruction is clear. There is also plenty of room for customization. Since the material is natural, variationand irregularity is expected - varied colors, cracks, knotts, holes, etc., and that's the beauty of the wood, not defect. I've seen negative feedbacks regarding this and I think it is best that they go to Home depot or Ikea for perfectly made artificial products.Some tips I would suggest:1. always drill pilot holes2. use wall anchors to attach to the drywall when there is no stud behind3. use a strong screw driver (or you'll have to use alot of elbow grease like me)The only shortcoming of the kit is that I somehow ran out of the 3 inch screws. I must have used too many on the walls. Overall I think the kit is excellent with high grade quality and excellent design.

The process is not as simple to assemble, but once you get the hang of it, it's a continuous motion t assemble. My husband and I created a different result as to what was originally designed to fit our space and needs. I love the smell and just how beautiful and modern yet cabin like style, it's a great product. Will definitely buy a another piece.

Excellent product, I installed 2 units and and shoe rack. Previously had the wire type closet. Easy to put togeather once you get the hang of it. Solid wood and smells great. Wife very pleased!!!

The closet system was awesome....and not to bad to assemble. Bonus the closet smells divine.

This is a very nice piece. The cedar is nice, not too many knots and imperfections. It does take some doing to install, particularly if you have to trim it to fit the space (which you probably will unless your closet is exactly six feet wide). But, the final product is worth it, as it looks very nice installed.My kit came and one of the boards was damaged in shipping, but the customer service was excellent - they sent a replacement that day. I would buy from this company again if I ever need another closet organizer.
