Q: Does the stratus have mips ?

There are c two versions of the Status; one with the MIPS feature, one without. The one that has it is called the Stratus MIPS, and has labels that identify out as such, as well as the visible yellow MIPS liner inside the helmet.

Q: does this allow for 'retention' or whatever they call it...so I can adjust overall tightness if I want to wear a cap underneath helmet?

Yes if you size it to allow for thickness if your cap. Great helmet if the shape is right for you.

Q: Well i just spent 149$ on one and it says mips i guess i’ll have to wait and see

I swear by MIPS technology. Had an accident two weeks ago in which I was moving at about 20 mph when I crashed and my head was the first part of my body to strike the ground. I walked away without any head or neck injuries...not even any soreness...and no residual problems whatsoever since the crash. I’d say my investment was well worth it. You made a good choice. You head and well-being are worth the cost.
