Cal and Maddie
There’s a reason this is one of my favorite Q.B. novels. She is one of the queens when it comes to taboo and forbidden romances. This book had tension, angst, longing, a hint of mystery, and a ton of passion. Madeline and Cal had a special bond from the beginning, and their relationship grew in a way no one saw coming at first. I loved that they were each other’s person, and they weren’t going to let anyone keep them from being happy. I lived for their taboo relationship filled with longing and tension. Cannot recommend this taboo romance enough!

interesting read
This was deffinatley an interesting book an bit twisted, spicy and immoral. I did finish the book, but it had me question my moral compass. I did not like the Cal's mother. dare i say i enjoyed the book as-well. I loved Aria for calling Cal out.

An Amazing Forbidden Tale
Q.B. Is a queen of forbidden, taboo, and steamy love stories. This story is amazing. It’s guardian/ward. He raised her. A touch of kink, and a whole lot of love story. You will love this!

Well written but gave me the ick
The book and spicy scenes were well written but I spend the whole book pretending the FMC was over 18. The age gap was fine, it was the other details of the relationship that just weren't for me.

The author writes all the forbidden and taboo goodness, but somehow makes it all feel very cozy and wholesome by the end, and that’s a remarkable skill. Tropes that might make you uncomfortable, situations you’d think would make you cringe, they’re all there but she weaves them all into sweet and sexy narrative that makes it feel romantic. All while keeping it perfectly filthy of course. It helps that her heroines are mature and actually aware of what they want, and don’t feel brainwashed into it. Also that her characters seem to actually discuss and understand the severity of the consequences of their forbidden romance for them and others.Of course, I wasn’t a fan of Cal and Maddie gaslighting everyone around them at one point, but I get it, you gotta do what you gotta do to survive. Their codependency is extremely unhealthy and you sometimes feel it, but like I said before, the author somehow makes it work within the framework of her story. Maddie’s self assuredness and level headed nature definitely helps the reader trust in her decisions. The twist at the end was pretty random and clearly added for conflict, so it made sense but felt like came out of the blue late into the game. But it kind of makes sense looking back so I took it for what it was.

pulls you in
As other reviewers have mentioned, this is a taboo novel. It revolves around a guardian relationship. So, if you’re not into that, then obviously skip it. The author handles the delicate nuances in this troubling relationship very well. If you go in feeling one way about this type of love, you might be surprised and sway your thoughts. I think there’s about a sixteen/seventeen years age gap between the couple, if that interest you. I don’t want to give too much away, so all I’ll say is that there is no child abuse in the storyline (heroine turns 18 early in the story). The only fault that I can give is that there is a dramatic event at the end of the story that I felt was strangely added in. It threw in a “dangerous “ element that I guess is expected in stories, but I felt it was a little left-field. There is plenty of steam in this book🌶🌶🌶 the characters are likeable and the writing is great. Definitely recommend it to readers who enjoy some taboo reading❣️📚

Not Bad
I enjoy reading QB’s work but I gotta say, this one was pushing it. It’s one thing to have them explore feelings when she’s off to college and has a little more life experience… but 17? It’s a little sketchy and gave off a grooming vibe. Not my cup of tea but it was well written.

First time I’m reading this author. My review belowGood:- Hot cop alpha hero who is well etched out- Soft young heroine who isn’t too immature despite her age- Hot scenes- Good chemistry between the main charactersNot so good:- Could have been written without the whole daddy kink or atleast toned it down a bit. Quite off-putting. This could have remained an age gap with an older brother/ guardian vibe during her growing up age to explain the background. It really didn’t need the ick factor of having her say daddy all the time.- Everytime there is a good thread going, the author ends it too quickly and introduces a steamy scene. I love steamy scenes but also want the emotion. So for eg when he first comes back after a date and she’s jealous, it really could have been explored further in that she thinks it’s unrequited so she tries to move on and then he claims her rather than it literally being the next morning. Similarly, when she goes out on a date and he comes to stop it, it needs a bit more of a plot there. Else it just feels like every plot line is prematurely ended.Overall I would say it’s a good book apart from the issue above.

Five unconditional stars
Unconditional by Q.B. Tyler is my first ever book by the author, and definitely would not be my last. With an age difference of 16 years between the hero and heroine, not to mention the fact that hero is the guardian of the heroine from a tender age, this story is filled with all kinds of forbidden deliciousness that it is hard to put down once you get started. That is if you are a reader like myself who loves tropes of the nature. The story begins ten years prior to present day, when 23 year old Cal Michael Grayson, a newly minted cop finds himself in a setting of domestic violence that reeks of horrors untold. Soon after, seven year old Madeline Elizabeth comes under his care, the years following which is fulfilling in a way that Cal would never have thought possible. However, change comes calling when 13 year old Madeline starts to see Cal in a whole different light, chastising herself all the while for the way she feels. There is nothing happening between her and Cal at this point, except for her own sexual awakening, which had been purely due to her own intuitiveness and curiosity playing its role, and Cal had starred prominently as the lead in each and every single one of her fantasies. Things hit a point of no return when Madeline is 17 years old, with just a couple of weeks away from hitting 18.While Cal would not admit to his changing feelings towards Madeline even at gun point, as always, he is in a fix when it comes to denying Madeline what she wants. Cal is a mass of confusion, want, and self derision when it comes to his feelings towards Madeline and it is not easy to walk away when desire and love for her tugs at his very soul.Of course there are those in Cal and Madeline’s lives that frown upon the connection between them. After all, it is hard for those observing what is unfolding to understand the true nature of feelings two people have for each other. Obviously the hero being 16 years older, and the fact that he is her legal guardian for that matter makes things doubly difficult. But there was a sensitivity with which Ms. Tyler handled it all which makes for swell reading and I reveled in every single feeling that coursed through me as I read along.Cal makes it really easy to fall in love with him. After all he is kind, gentle, and wants what is best for Madeline, even if it means cutting his own heart open and letting himself bleed. He would lay down his very life for Madeline and there is no easy way to reconcile with his burgeoning feelings of the amorous variety when it comes to her, his Madeline. But of course, Madeline does not make it easy for him to walk away just like that, and it is she that makes sure that Cal sees her feelings for what they are – feelings of the till death do us part kind which has no beginning and no end.I found Unconditional to be just purrfect I believe in the fact that love often finds us at the most inopportune moments, that we have no power over whom we love (though we do have power over what we decide to do with that love), and society would always judge us no matter what – there is just no pleasing everyone. Ms. Tyler does an amazing job of bringing out the emotions, characterization, and the oh dear Lord, hot as sin sex scenes that just fired up the pages.Loved the epilogue, which was sheer perfection, much needed after all that was said and done. Recommended for fans of taboo themed romances. This one is pretty much it when considering the circumstances.

Hot, sexy forbidden romance - excellent book !!!
So this was a new author for me, this book was recommended by another author I follow and being as it is taboo I just couldn't resist the pull as it is one of my favourite genre to read. Let me just say I LOVED this book. I read it straight through, every time I put it down, I was desperate to pick it back up again. The writing is excellent with a wonderful story that was dealt with very well considering the subject matter.Cal is a twenty three year old police officer and one day goes to a domestic incident where upon he finds Madeline a little girl of seven hiding in her closet and basically he takes care of her and comforts her. She immediately clings to him and takes to him rather than anyone else. So now we fast forward ten years and Cal is Maddie's guardian, he has been taking care of her and doing everything a father would do when raising a daughter. What we must remember here is he is not her father; there are no blood related lines here but it still feels forbidden which I have no complaints about because I love reading taboo. Some people might find this wrong but honestly I didn't see the harm, they were both consenting adults but the way the author has planted Cal in your mind as being the "father" figure; very cleverly I may add, will make some people frown against it.Apart from that the characters were great to get to know and read about, I connected to them very easily and I honestly didn't dislike any of them. I loved Cal and his alpha male protectiveness. Loved Maddie and her determination and the fact she knew her own mind, this girl knew exactly what she wanted and went out to get it. I really admired that about her. And the chemistry, oh wow, especially in the first half of the book was that hot my kindle nearly set alight from all the erotic sexiness; the denials, the push and pull, the temptation of it all. Yes this story was a delight to read !!There is of course angst and a twist I never seen coming at all. I just have nothing bad to say about this book in any way, in fact I've downloaded some of this authors other books and will be reading them too. Excellent work !!!

A delicious forbidden romance with her guardian, leaning in to the taboo with an age gap. I loved the premise of this book and really enjoyed this story. QB Tyler's writing style is very enjoyable and easy to read. I felt the story could be developed more to create more connection as a reader to the main characters but overall I'm glad I picked it up.
