Q: I applied this to outdoor wood stained stairs. The corners are peeling up a bit, is there a recommended additional adhesive that I can apply?

For porous suefaces like raw wood or concrete, we recommended to seal or paint the surface before applying the tape for the best result.

Q: what size is the tape pre-cut to when it says it is pre-cut ?

Unsure it says that, but my roll I had to cut to the length I wanted. I stuck on porch near the edge. It lasted 8 months so far. I've only put on wood so far. If says pre-cut, then i believe that's a typo

Q: Would this wear down a dog's nails over time when applied to their outdoor ramp?

probably - however, the dog would be growing nails at the same time. I suppose it may depend on the dog. This is a very good product to keep a person from slipping and injury. I suspect that it may cause an owner to inspect the dogs' paws more often.

Q: It's wintertime in the northeast. If I use a heat gun to warm up the underside of the strip, will this help in adhesion?

Yes that will help but the man thing for adhesion is moisture. It must adhere to a dry surface. I would apply a heat gun to the steps to dry them out. Mine is sticking good even in a rainy situation.
